LOVE THIS CLEAR BAG

Hey Loves!

Let’s talk quickly about this Zara snakeskin dress dupe before Xavier wakes up from his nap! This dupe is by Shein and its only $22!! The Zara original is about $70, so obviously this is a good steal. There are a few differences in comparison to the Zara original, so lets discuss!

What are the differences between the Zara & Shein version?

The Shein version of this snakeskin dress is about ankle length in comparison to the Zara midi, mid knee length. It also only buttons to about mid thigh, so this is a dress you’d want to pair with leggings or jeans as I did, unless you want to wear a slip or get more buttons added to wear it as an actual dress. Another difference is that the belt on the Shein version does not come with a buckle. Its just a fabric belt. Lastly, the lining on the inside of this dress is white which you can see face forward (see 3rd pic down), as the dress doesn’t button all the way down. I wish the inside of the dress was the same snakeskin print so that its more cohesive.

Not all dupes are created equal, this dress is great but those differences may matter to those of you who want an exact dupe.  Again, my only qualm is with the white material on the inside shows since its not buttoned all the way down.

Anyhoo, Xavier just woke up so I gotta go, lol. Mom life!

Its the most wonderful time of the year…. for Fashion in my opinion anyway. I adore wearing beautiful coats and boots during this season. Dallas does get cold during the winter, it may not be consistent or last as long as it does up north. So please understand how excited I get to break out my coats and knee boots. I was so into the over the knee boot craze for the past few years, that I believe I’m over it. Especially when I laid eyes on these Nine West beauties a few weeks back!!

These knee boots are even more beautiful in person: they are black, but color block in camel, navy and gray suede. The heel height is about 4 inches and they are comfortable as well. They are only available in size 5 on Nine West site. However, I found them for you on Zappos. So be sure to grab these asap before they sell out!

This coat is another stunner! The colors in this coat goes so well with my boots! I will say this coat is not heavy, its more like a car coat or a topper in the sense that the weight of the coat is in comparison to a heavy cardigan. So I wouldn’t wear this in 30 degree temps with the expectation of being kept nice and warm. But, its a great transitional piece to carry into the winter season!!

What are your favorite style pieces to wear during the Fall/Winter season? Obviously mine are definitely coats and boots! I always buy a new coat and new boots every year. I can’t get enough!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see all of my looks! These days with a baby, its getting a little challenging to write up a blog post. So Instagram is much easier for me to stay connected with you. Be sure to follow me HERE!

Well you guys, the time has come! I have to give up my Shoe Room with baby #2 on the way. Camille is going to move into my shoe room and baby #2 will take Camille’s nursery. I knew when I designed my shoe room that this was going to happen once we were pregnant again. I’ve had the shoe room for a little over 3 years now. It was a nice run, but its time!

While I am a little sad about this, I am actually ok with having to make this transition. We plan to move some of the things from my shoe room to the guest bedroom. It will basically be a shoe room/guest bedroom. In order to make this happen, I have to downsize and get rid of a lot of stuff. I don’t know if its nesting kicking in, but I am so ready to downsize and let go of a lot of my shoes. Honestly, I haven’t worn many of them in years. So its just taking up precious space and its time for it to go.

One of my followers suggested I sell my shoes on Poshmark, so I created an account. There are over 40 pairs of shoes are listed there! I wanted to share with you all my Postmark closet so you can take a look and shop my closet. My shoe size is a  6.5/7 and I will also be listing handbags, Camille’s old clothes and shoes and whatever else I decide to sell. So stay tuned and be sure to follow me there! I rather these things go to someone else who will wear and enjoy them, rather then sitting on my shelf. It got a little emotional going thru Camille’s old baby clothes. Time has flown so quickly. My little tiny baby is now a fiery, sweet little 3 year old. Pass me a tissue please!

What is Poshmark?

Poshmark is a great online platform used to buy and sell clothing/shoe etc items online. Its super easy to set up and get started rather you are buying or selling. So here is the link to my Poshmark closet (CLICK HERE)!  Take a look around and see what you like! I am willing to negotiate prices, so don’t be afraid to ask!

Do you need to do a closet clean out? Let me tell you, I am so excited to let go of some of these things and just keep what I truly love and use. After this closet clean out, it will be time to get started on redoing Camille’s room! Let me know if you want me to share that process with you too if you’re interested!

Bell Sleeve Velvet Wrap Top $18!

Layered Tassel Earrings $13

This velvet top screams Valentine’s Day to me! Its so pretty, soft and gives off the right amount of sexy and romantic vibes I must say. Especially with the off shoulder and pretty velvet texture. I had to share this velvet top with you all so you can grab it now. Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it. So lets go ahead and get some Valentine’s Day outfit ideas in mind shall we?

I’ve fallen prey to the velvet trend and simply cant get enough. Its something about a super soft fabric such as velvet that makes it so soft, luxurious and even comfortable. I think this top is also perfect for Galentine’s Day if you are celebrating with your girls too. For $18, you just need to grab this top  ASAP! You never know when you’ll need it, hey better safe then sorry right?!

I just wanted to pop in for a quick post to let you all know about this top. Are you following me on Instagram? If so, you should! You definitely want to be “in the know,” regarding all of my content that I don’t always share on the blog!

I linked a few other velvet options for you below! Is the velvet trend one you love too?

Happy New Year!

You’ve probably seen this color block coat around for a while now. I surely have! But, I saw it pop up on my Instagram feed not too long ago and here we are. I now own one! And its a keeper! You guys know my love for coats, so this truly is no surprise to you that I have, yet another one. I really like how I can wear head to toe black and look like I did something to myself with this coat on. Because lets face it, thats kind of what I had on underneath this coat in these pics. And well, its a look! lol.

This color block coat has been around for some years now. Just about every blogger I follow had one when it first came out. So naturally, I didn’t want to participate in getting something EVERYBODY and they mama was wearing. Now that its popularity has died down some, I decided I would go ahead and get in on the action. Are you like that too? When everybody is wearing it, you want no parts of it. But, once the craze is over, you’re here for it?! Well, thats me! I don’t believe anything really goes out of style. Not if you take it and make it work for you. If you want to wear a darn skant (the skirt over pants craze in the 90s) and you can make it look GOOD in 2018?! Girl! That simply tells me you have true style and make things work for you, not everyone else!

Happy New Year!

I wish I had a New Year Eve “word” for you today, but it hasn’t hit me yet. I’m gonna take some more time over the next few days to figure out what is on my heart and mind to deliver it to you. Sometimes I have a motivational or from the heart blog post for you guys and sometimes I don’t. But, life is like that you know. I rather share whats really on my heart then fake it for you. Understand?! Good!

Chat with you soon!

Hey Loves!

Let me fill you in on something. I LOVE coats! I really do! Outerwear is one of my top clothing pieces that I love to wear. Even though I live in Texas, it does get cold enough to have a nice coat on hand for those Winter days where a little jacket just won’t do. I really love coats with a nice print, such as this plaid coat that I got recently from Shein! When I saw this beauty in the black and white, I just HAD to have it!

It was super cold the day we shot this look, about 40 degrees that morning. I will say, this is NOT a heavy coat. Its more like a heavy weight duster or cardigan. So you must make sure to dress warm underneath. I don’t want you to think that all you need is this coat and you’ll be warm. I would say its perfect for 50-60 degree weather if you wear light clothing underneath. Nevertheless, its very comfy and stylish plaid coat that hangs beautifully. I loved pairing this plaid coat with orange/red booties to add some color to this simple look.

How was your Christmas?

I hope you all had a very, Merry Christmas. It was great to spend time with family, see Camille open her Christmas presents and eat all the good food. To tell you the truth, my favorite moment on Christmas is after the last guests have left, you change into pajamas and fix that second or third plate and have dessert lol. Its nothing like popping off that bra and getting into those comfy clothes and being able to fully relax. Am I right?

Henri Bendel Flat Top Sunglasses on sale $77!!

Ok so let me start off by saying this Zara sequin sleeve jacket is no longer available. I purchased it at Zara’s last sale which was during the summer. Its one of those jackets that you know will cause attention. You will get compliments all day long from fashionistas alike! I wore this to brunch before the shoot and couldn’t take it off, I loved it so much. So before I posted this jacket, I made sure to go to google and search to find similar sequin sleeve jackets like mine. Fortunately I found a few! So don’t be too mad at me, ok?!

I’m a sucker for army green, especially in a jacket. It compliments my skin tone and I am all for it! So I typically always reach for one when I am out shopping. But, what I liked about this one, was that it was not the same as my other 3 olive green jackets lol. This sequin sleeve jacket makes such a statement and uplifts a plain outfit. I mean all I am rocking is my “Boss So Hard” tee (get you one y’all!) and some ripped jeans. You can easily see how this jacket transforms this simple outfit and makes it stand out.

I know I’ve been MIA lately. But, the holiday season has me so busy with preparing for guests, shopping for gifts and trying to get everything in order. But, I do have some looks for you guys coming up soon. So stay tuned!!

Y’all, this Zara dupe bodysuit is a good one! I initially saw this bodysuit on Zara’s website and in store and I adored it. Bodysuits have a way that fits and lays so easily on the body and perfect to wear with jeans or a skirt. This bodysuit retails at Zara for $50! Well, your girl found it on Shein for only $22! Save your coins when you can ladies, save your coins!

I kept it simple and paired it with my favorite pair of flared jeans, layered necklaces and these gorgeous shades from The Impeccable Pig. These shades scream 70s vibe and pretty much set the entire look off! This Zara dupe bodysuit looks like the original version and fits just as nice. You could even layer a fur vest on top of this to take it to the next level. It was warm on the day we shot this look, so I didn’t even bother to pull out my heavy fur vest. But, don’t you love it when you can create a variety of looks just off of one piece? I sure do!

I linked a few  Zara dupe bodysuit that I thought you might love too. I’m contemplating in grabbing them all because its such an easy way to create a simple, stylish look. These days, with the chaos of the holidays, no one has time to spend on trying to create an outfit. With this Zara dupe bodysuit, just put on cute bottoms and go on your merry way!

How do you love this Zara dupe bodysuit?

How would you rock it?

Hey loves!

As you know, I was in New York a few weeks back for my very first New York Fashion Week (read about it here)! As you can imagine, packing for New York during the winter time is quite a feat. Not only do I need to be stylish, but stay warm as well. I mean, I’m all for fashion, but what I am not gonna do is freeze my butt off! So it was absolutely crucial to have pieces to layer and keep warm in, while enduring the cold while in NYC. Rent The Runway to the rescue!!

Rent The Runway is truly a great travel hack because you seriously save so much space in your luggage.  You can rent dresses, accessories, coats, pants and handbags too!! Which to me, is quite important as I am a pro- carry on kind of girl.  I love using packing cubes to save space in my luggage! Whats great about RTR is that you can go online, select your pieces and the date you need them and have them delivered your home, hotel or wherever. When I was in NYC last October, I rented a few dresses for our anniversary shoot and had them delivered to the hotel (see the shoot here and here). After my rental period was up, I simply returned them to the RTR store in NYC. If you are not in New York, don’t worry! You can totally return them via UPS as well. Seriously, how easy is that?!

Rent The Runway also has an Unlimited program where you can rent up to three pieces and keep them as long as you like for $139 a month. If you didn’t know, RTR has tons of designer items such as Marissa Webb, Derek Lamb, DVF, Zac Posen and lots more! Free shipping, dry cleaning and you can cancel at any time! So the next time you are planning your vacay and wondering what to wear, just head to RTR and have your selections delivered to you. I linked a few vacay ready pieces from Rent The Runway below.  What a great hack right? Saving luggage space and still slay? You are winning!

Have you rented from RTR before? I’d love to hear what you rented and how you liked the service!

Please share!

So you guys, how many of you watch Love & Hip Hop??

Its ok, this is a safe place for you to admit your guilty pleasure! But, I must say that I, an educated woman watch this foolery and I am still trying to figure out why. Tonight, I watched the reunion show of Love & Hip Hop New York and it was a complete mess. Remy Ma and Papoose were the only two on the platform who were not acting a fool. But, why do we watch these shenanigans again and again on reality tv shows? Its really not just because of the storylines, but its because in a way we like seeing people fail. Let me explain!

There are plenty of reality tv shows that I feel some kind of way about in terms of being messy and again, pure foolery ( I have a feeling the word “foolery” will be all up and thru this post btw.) But again, it’s not just about a storyline the producers and “stars” use to draw us in. Its about forcing people to take a side and wanting the other side to lose. Because I just literally finished watching Love & Hip Hop Reunion Special, I will try to keep my focus on this particular show. Anyways, in tonight’s reunion show, there was a HUGE fight between Yandy and her “husband” baby mommas. If you haven’t watched the show, Yandy’s husband Mendeeces is in jail for a looonnng time for a crime he committed and he has two baby momma’s and his wife Yandy. Well, the kids mothers are attempting to get the kids together to ensure they have a relationship together while the father is in jail. Lets just say this attempt continues to fail and fail again because of their pettiness and immaturity that gets in the way of these kids having at least a darn play date. Anyways, these grown women end up on stage cursing each other out and fighting because of all of the trifling things they have done and said about one another. In case you didn’t know, its #teamyandy and then the other two baby mothers who have joined forces to try to bring her down (insert eye roll here).

Now, I am not going to say whose team I am on. Actually, I am not on either of these three ladies team to tell you the truth. They are all acting very immature and I cannot support the foolery. But, let me tell you this, I do believe there is a level of respect and hierarchy that you have to understand here. Yandy, his “wife” holds the hierarchy because hello, she is his “wife!” I am not going to go into why I am putting “wife” in quotations because this post isn’t about doing a darn review of the show, but I am trying to make a point. Yandy truly did not have a need for bringing herself down by fighting these drama filled women. You would not have caught me out there looking crazy. If I was Yandy, I would’ve set myself right in that seat and just looked at these chicks with a smile on my face. Why? I have the commitment of the man I love, beautiful children who don’t need to see their momma act a fool and my bank account is sitting nice and pretty because I am an entrepreneur of several businesses. Are you not entertained by what I have worked hard for and built on my own?? Now do you want to sit here and look foolish or take some notes so you can try to get what I have. You mad or nah?! #petty

So why do I say we like to see them fail? Because its true. If you think about it, the “I told you so’s, she’s so stupid she gonna go back to him, he don’t have any money to take care of his kids, etc etc.” Its like we get points for being right about what happened to these people who are supposedly living their lives for the world to see. Even watching the Housewives franchise or any other reality tv show will have you doing the same thing, “watch he’s gonna cheat on her, she’s gonna go bankrupt, she’s broke, their marriage is gonna fail.” Blah, blah blah, I think you get the point! Honestly, its kind of sad that we are amused and entertained by watching these people fail. I mean they have struggles, shortcomings and personal issues just like anybody else. Its very rare that you are celebrating the success of these people we do not know, but more so highlighting their moments in life that they are probably not very proud of.

So what is this post about?? I don’t know girl, I was just watching and thought what a mess it was and how we are more entertained by their failures then their success. Funny thing is, these reality stars and tv networks know that its a winning formula that works. Give the people drama and foolery!  I guess that check must be worth it huh?!

So what do you think? Do you think that reality tv shows such as LHH is more about highlighting people failures  more then their success? Or you just cant take the ratchet out of everybody? Hmmm..

Thoughts?
