Its Spring Dress Season Y’all!

Well, in most parts of the country it is! Anyways, lets chat about spring dresses shall we? I don’t know about you, but when the first big break in the weather hits, I’m on the hunt for great spring dresses. Spring dresses I feel are always necessary. We’ve covered our legs all winter season and its time to break free! Am I right? So this gorgeous floral pink and orange dress was just what the doctor ordered…. or what I ordered actually; to get my spring dress game ready for the season!

So I purchased this dress a few weeks back and shared it on my Instagram stories as a sneak peak. Unfortunately, its sold out! This is the downside about blogging, trying to get content and products up before they sell out or most sizes are gone. I strongly suggest you save this dress as a favorite on the website so you can check to see when its been restocked. Anyways, this dress is beautiful! The pink and orange floral print are colorful yet chic. The dress has three cut outs! One on each side of the waist and one across the waist. I pulled it up a bit on me because I’m not that bold to share my pre summer stomach with you all 🙂 It also has side slits and is made with the prettiest satin fabric. So be careful, it is prone to snagging!

Thank Goodness its Thursday!!! So I know you want the deets on this dress. So its time to spill the tea!  This maxi dress is EVERYTHING, right??!! I love a good maxi dress. But, it’s so hard sometimes to find the “PERFECT” maxi. The geometric print, high slit, and the movement of the dress gives it life. I was happy when SheIn reached out to me to choose a piece from their line to review. I’m always on the hunt for a stylish maxi dress. So as soon as I saw this dress, I knew I’d have to have it. It screams my style!! And its under $25!!! Drops the mic!

Now, here are a few things you need to know about this dress before you order!

1. Size DOWN!! – this beauty runs big. I normally wear a small (size 4), but I chose an Extra Small in this dress and I still had room up top (itty bitty committee anyone?). So I strongly suggest to check out the measurements on the site or just go a size down. You won’t lose the fluidity of the dress, but you don’t want it to sag on you either.

2. Wear a Slip!!!- As you can see, this dress has a very high slit. There were a few times that I almost had a Marilyn Monroe moment while shooting in this dress lol. So make sure you put a little something underneath so that you are not caught in a “woman down” situation

3. The dress is thin- The material on this dress is thin and very lightweight. So don’t expect it to have weight. It may be of concern to you, but this doesn’t bother me as the dress still looks and feels amazing. Perfect for this Texas heat! Just keep in mind to wear a slip or seamless shape wear underneath so that panty lines are not seen.

4. Shipping- this dress is being shipped from overseas! I received this dress about a week or two after I ordered it. So please make sure to read about the shipping times!

It’s 12 midnight and I am up writing this blog post. Is it possible to be so tired that you take a nap at 9 at night because you still have things to do and can’t go to bed yet? This is my life right now. I work full time, have a 10 month old baby and the daily struggle of trying to figure out, “whats for dinner?” I know some of you can relate. Life goes by so fast and quickly, you struggle to find time to get things done sometimes. When I decided to start a blog, I thought, “am I going to have time for it?” I knew it was something I really desired to do, but did not want to fail at it if I could not be consistent. Well, I am only a few months into blogging and I couldn’t be happier to be up at midnight writing this post.
Blogging is something I really enjoy. It’s a creative outlet for me to do something different outside of my 9-5. The key word is that I enjoy this! You make time for things you like to do and I am learning that this is one of those things. If nobody else reads my blog, I know that I am still happy to create looks and throw them out to the universe and say that I did it! I don’t worry too much about page views or if people will like the outfits I put together because I am passionate about doing this and I love it. I wish I started blogging earlier if I knew what happiness it would bring me.
Is there anything that you have in your mind that you want to do, but haven’t put any action towards doing it?? I implore you to hop to it! Get out of your own way and make it happen! What’s important is to do what is on your heart with the comfort of not questioning yourself and thinking, “what if?!” There is nothing like perfect timing and with a little prayer and planning, things will fall in line. So I challenge you, we have plenty of time left in 2015, whatever it is on your “things to do” list, or “I wish I could” list, DO IT!!! What do you have to lose?!

This jumpsuit right here? LOVE! This jumpsuit has become my favorite purchase from the “Lilly for Target” collection by Lilly Pulitzer that launched at Target a few weeks ago. A blogger friend and I stood in line early that Sunday morning, the day of launch, with a game plan, comfy shoes and hopes to snag everything on our wish list and we did! The collection was highly anticipated and sold out immediately in stores and online, so sad to say you probably won’t be able to locate this jumpsuit at your local Target. Welcome back! Don’t you love this clean and classic look on today’s post? This is a complete closet remix with the addition of only one new item: white skinny pants! Everything else in the post are old, tried and true items from my closet that I doubt I’ll ever part with. It has all the components you need for your wardrobe: fitted blazer, nude pumps, statement bag and classic striped shirt. These are all things you need in your wardrobe and not have to worry if its “out of style” or a “one and done” trendy look. But real talk, I am not always one to worry about trends, I just do me and rock what I want lol.

I like to think that certain looks can take me anywhere I go and this is one of them. The clutch is my all time favorite and is such a statement piece that I can always count on it to make a look pop and step it up a notch. These nude pumps are comfortable but sleek and if you can’t afford a red bottom, well this is the pump for you! This blazer tho’? Zara, Zara, Zara! I can always count on them to have the best fitted blazers and this one is a few years old and still looks good! What pieces in your wardrobe can you always count on to take you everywhere and you can remix with different looks? See you back on Sunday for another post!!

Happy Sunday loves! Its been a long week and I have been super excited this week to have friends and family here in town for my little girl baby dedication! I have been super busy getting things together for this event. Life as a mommy is overwhelming but it brings me so much joy every time I see that little face and know that she is all mine!

This week’s shoot was in the Highland Park area in Dallas and its such a gorgeous location for pictures. If only I could pack a bag and hop on a plain to Spain, I wish lol!  Also, the hubby shot these pictures!! It was a new experience for us both and having a baby in tow while snapping pictures is not easy. But, we made it work (barely)! I love this maxi skirt, its colorful, bright and the perfect pop of color to your spring wardrobe. I’ve had it for some years now and it never goes out of style. Its a good ole’ TJ Maxx find and I also picked it up in a fun fuchsia too! I usually wear it with a tank or tee and keep the look super simple and easy. Happy Thursday friends!!

I thought I would share exactly why I am doing this blogging thing. Blogging is a little foreign to some who are not familiar with what it is or why someone would do it. Blogging is simply talking about whatever interest you!

Well, if you know me, you KNOW that I love fashion and all things girly. I am always reading fashion magazines, blogs or checking out YouTube videos on makeup and style. All of these things combined is a girl that’s always shopping and creating different looks. I happened to hear about Instagram on YouTube and quickly became hooked! I started posting outfit of the day pictures there and received great response and followers! In doing so, I followed so many fashion bloggers who inspired me through their style and thought, I could do that!! Not only could I do it, I would LOVE having a creative outlet that I could be passionate and excited about while inspiring others through style and fashion. So through the support of my Instagram buddies and followers, I decided to stop putting it off and stop second guessing myself and get down to business. So here I am!
I appreciate so many of you following and checking me out. I’m having so much fun meeting new people and learning about this “new” industry of blogging. Well, hello there! Welcome! This is my first blog post and I am so excited!! I have been working on getting this blogging thing started for the last few months and the day is finally here.
