In today’s post I will be sharing Mommy & Daughter Fall Outfit Ideas Look 1! It can be a little challenging to plan a Mommy & daughter outfit. Most of you are gearing up to take Holiday or Family pictures or looking for fun outfit ideas for you and your little. Camille is my mini me. She loves Fashion and she loves doing whatever mommy does. So when I told her we would do a photo shoot sharing Mommy & Daughter Fall Outfit ideas, she was so excited. She practiced her poses the day before and showed me each one.

My Favorite Places to Shop for Camille

When it comes to dressing Camille, I like to keep her comfortable, age appropriate and stylish. My favorite places to shop for Camille are Zara, H&M, Justice and Forever 21! Forever 21 has super cute girls department. I found the sweatshirt and skirt she is wearing there for a great price. We paired it with her Walmart girls combat boots and a cute gold purse from Amazon. Yes, you can have a stylish mini me without breaking the bank.

If you are looking for stylish, unique pieces for your little girl, Zara is another favorite store I love to shop for Camille. They always take it up a notch when it comes to their Girls collection. A lot of their pieces are on trend and sometimes similar styling as Zara Women. We always find so many cute things when we go. You’ll see a few Zara outfits for Camille in upcoming posts so stay tuned!

Use What’s In Your Closet to Get Ideas

Fall for me is always about the fashion. I love dressing up warm and cozy, so when I discovered this sweatshirt that I bought last year from H&M deep in my closet, I got so excited because it goes with the French words, “Mon Cheri” in Camille’s sweatshirt. When you plan your Mommy & daughter fall outfit, try to see what you have in your closet first or what your little has in theirs and go from there in determining how to style each others looks. I had these gorgeous, wide leg pants from a few years back that worked well with my look. I kept it simple with nude booties and voila! Two stylish ladies are ready to hit the streets!

Did you Like this Mommy & Daughter Fall Outfit Idea?

I like to call this look, elevated casual. We elevated a simple, graphic sweatshirt into something a little more special and fun too. When it comes to your mini me, we always want them to feel special and loved. Where would you wear this outfit? I’m thinking a fun, mommy/daughter brunch would be perfect! Check out our other Mommy & Me Fashion post from earlier this year when we did a look wearing leather here and here!

Hey Loves!

One thing I have learned since having Xavier is that I need more “mom on the go” pieces or AKA “yoga pants” in my life lol. I’m sorry, but most times jeans are the last thing I want to throw on these days. So I started purchasing yoga pants or workout leggings like a mad woman the past few months. They are much more comfortable and I can move around easily and freely in them too. I’m usually carrying around a car seat or lifting a stroller so leggings fit the bill when comfort is key.

Now just because I am wearing leggings on most days doesn’t mean I am sacrificing my style. This is where the term “athleisure” comes into play. Athleisure basically means “clothing designed for workouts and other athletic activities is worn in other settings, such as at the workplace, at school, or at other casual or social occasions,” as defined by Wikipedia lol. I love to style my athleisure wear with cool layering pieces like a leather or denim jacket, super cute sneakers or slides and puffer vests. Yes, you can look stylish in chic in yoga pants people. Who knew?

Forever 21 has some amazing leggings that I fell in love with recently. In fact, the leggings you see here are Forever 21. Also, check out Marshall’s and TJ Maxx too!! I’ve scored some super cute yoga pants on clearance for about $12. And when I say they are comfortable, I mean it!

Are you into the athleisure wear trend? I am definitely here for it. In fact, being a mom on the go with a baby and toddler is opening my mind to expanding my wardrobe. I’ve even purchased more gym shoes or sneakers as some like to call it lately. Could I, lover of heels and a good flat, turn into a sneaker head? Stay tuned!

Hello Loves!

I remember being pregnant with Camille, I  wanted the perfect, stylish diaper bag. Especially with having a girl! I just imagined myself walking through the mall or park with my baby in my stroller and my super cute diaper bag in arm. Ha! I can look back at that now and laugh. After I had Camille and actually had to utilize a diaper bag, it wasn’t the most functional and easy bag to carry. It was super difficult trying to manage a stroller, squeezing the diaper bag into the basket or hanging it on the stroller. Let’s not even mention the times I was just carrying the car seat and the diaper bag sliding off my arm every five minutes. I hated it! It started to become such a hassle to carry around, I would often times leave it in the car and just grab the essentials.

I recall Eric and I getting ready to take our first airplane trip with Camille as a baby to visit my brother in law in Chicago. She was about four months old. As a new parent, I spent so much time going over every detail making sure I packed what Camille needed for a successful trip.  I made sure to have a baby carrier on hand so I could just baby wear her in the airport while Eric dealt with the car seat, stroller and other things. I did not want to deal with carrying my diaper bag while trying to manage the chaos of travel and baby wearing Camille. While I was out shopping,  I stumbled upon diaper backpacks. I don’t know what rock I was living under, but I knew it had to be easier to travel with a backpack versus a tote bag. You guys, total game changer! From then on, I carried my diaper backpack all the time. Life was much easier!

My diaper backpack I wore at the time has now seen better days. After getting pregnant this second time around, I kept hearing and reading good things about Ju-Ju-Be Diaper Bags. I knew I wanted a versatile bag to carry Xavier’s essentials as well as things for Camille and I too. So many moms were saying they loved the quality of the Ju-Ju-Be bags! They loved how easy it was to keep clean, plenty of pockets and easy access to different compartments. Well, low and behold when I went to check them out, I saw they also offered diaper backpacks. Yay!

What are some of the Ju-Ju-Be Diaper Bag features?

So I am very happy that I was able to partner with Ju-Ju-Be and share with you all their bags. They also offer accessories such as changing pads, pacifier pods, bottle bags, pumping bags & more.  The price point for a diaper backpack is about $155. Another thing I like about the backpacks are the ergonomic backpack straps!  This is perfect for me because I sometimes suffer from back pains. Also, the fabric is made of Teflon, perfect for repelling stains. It also features two exterior insulated pockets to keep bottles warm or cold. Another great feature is that the backpack opens fully out, so you can easily see and access whats in your bag. I love this because sometimes you have to dig and dig to try to find anything thats fallen to the bottom of your backpack. So annoying!

I absolutely love the style that I selected too. Its called the “Be Right Back” Diaper Backpack in the Versailles style. I love the print and color, its really gender neutral in my opinion. Although Eric begs to differ. In fact, he said this backpack reminds him of the “New Kanye.” Lmbo and my argument was that its absolutely not the “New Kanye,” its the “Old Kanye!!” There is a huge difference people!  Lol.

Whats in my diaper bag?

I thought I would also share with you what’s in my diaper bag! This is so helpful for new moms or moms who haven’t had a baby in a while. Even I had to go back and research to see what I should pack in his diaper bag!

  1. Change of clothes: at least 2-3 onesies or sets that baby can change into in the event of spills, blow outs or change of weather.
  2. Pacifier: For me, I love the Wubba Nubba paci! It comes with a plush toy animal attached to the pacifier which helps to easily find paci and also baby can easily grab themselves. I swear by this paci because we were always able to keep track of it and it never rolled off anywhere.
  3.  Ziplock bags/trash bags: you know, in case of a tragic blow out!
  4. Diapers
  5. Burp Cloths: about 2-3
  6. Nursing Cover
  7. Changing Pad: I like the Ju-Ju-Be one as its memory foam and I also throw in a few disposable changing pads too!
  8. Socks
  9. Disposable Tee-Pees: I am having a boy and I don’t want to get squirted on!
  10. Baby Wipes
  11. Anti Bacterial wipes and spray: to wipe down those gross changing tables in bathrooms and a travel size antibacterial spray to sanitize it!
  12. Muslin Swaddle Blankets or Receiving Blankets

I hope this post was helpful. If you are not expecting, but know of a mom to be who is, send them this blog post! I am sure they would love to check out the Ju-Ju-Be products and also get an idea of what to pack in their little one diaper bag! Not to mention this bag would make a great baby shower gift too!

Hey there!

So let’s talk about SheIn or SheInside clothing for a minute today, Ok? I get tons of questions from followers, friends, family, aunties, cousins, everybody and their mama about SheIn. Lol. Is it safe to order? Will I order one thing and get another? Will it be five sizes too small? Does it look the same as the picture? How long will it take to order? I totally get it. To tell you the truth I would have those same questions and reservations about ordering from an online retailer overseas. For me, I need to feel safe about using my credit card and really just getting what I paid for. So let’s address some of the questions I receive about SheIn and why I feel its totally fine for you to order.

Oh and this sweatshirt AND leggings are from SheIn by the way!

Does it fit correctly? Will I order a small and get something a newborn can fit?

Ok, so thats not really the question I get about the newborn, but you know what I mean. I’ve seen the horror stories online about overseas retailers, where customers get the tiniest little dress or top when they order. That’s a hot mess for sure! In my experience with SheIn, I have never ordered anything where the size was significantly smaller then what I ordered. Now, there was ONE piece I ordered, a shirt, that was way too big on me. In this case, I feel that they mis-marked the size. What I stress to everyone who is interested in ordering is to READ THE REVIEWS!!! If the item I am interested in does not have reviews, I will more than likely not order it. The reviews are so helpful to me in determining what size to wear, quality and fit.

Take for instance the leggings I am wearing in the above pics. All of the reviews noted to SIZE UP! So thats what I did. I definitely agree that the leggings run small. So again, read the reviews and make a decision before ordering. This will  help you to feel more at ease about the fit. I almost always tell you in my blog post if an item is true to size or to size up/down when I am wearing SheIn. So be sure to look for that information as well!

Does It Look the Same In the Picture?

Yes it does. Simply put huh?

How is the quality??

Ok everyone, huddle around so you can hear this loud and clear. Lol. The quality to me is no different than Forever 21 and SOMETIMES H&M. I have received one or two things where I felt that the fabric should of been a little heavier in weight or the fabric felt a bit thin/see thru to me. I have washed and worn all of my pieces quite a few times. This is where I say, if you take care of your clothes, it will last. This has been the case with all of my orders. I have had no issues with the item falling a part on me or losing shape in the wash. So just wash them carefully and take care of them!!

My suggestion: check out the product details and see what the fabric is made of. That will give you an indication of what to expect such as if it would look cheap, see thru or too thin.

How long does it take to receive it?

I typically receive my order in about 2 weeks. So don’t order it today expecting to get it Friday. No ma’am!

Is it safe to use my credit card?

Ok, so here’s the deal. I have not “purchased” anything from SheIn. Since I am a blogger, they allow me to pick a few pieces to feature on the blog. But, I have close friends who have ordered and I have not heard of any issues. Plus, lots of you have already ordered from them as well. So I have not received any emails from my followers stating there was ever an issue with their credit card. But of course, always be cautious when using your credit card online by monitoring your account for any funky activity. Safe to say that I have not heard of any issues.

Have I ever returned anything because of the fit/quality?

Yes, about three things I returned. Compare that to all of the items I have from SheIn (probably about 20) and its no different then purchasing an item at the mall or heck, Nordstrom’s.

Do I get paid to promote SheIn?

Girl I wish! I do earn commission from what you buy thru my Reward Style affiliate program. I kind of chatted about that in my last post. Did you read it? Read more about my Like to Know It post!

I hope this post has helped with answering any questions you may have regarding SheIn. Also, it appears they are having a little Pre-Summer sale for up to $40 off! How timely?!

Hey Loves!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. My weekend was spent cleaning the house and attending an Alvin Ailey Dance Company performance. Which by the way was simply amazing!! Such a great opportunity for some culture and to get dressed up. Speaking of which, I dont always get the opportunity to put on a pretty dress and hit the town. Especially as a mommy, the days of getting dressed up sometimes feel few and far in between.

So, what is my mommy style?

I wanted to discuss mommy style today on the blog. I learned quickly when Camille came home from the hospital, that getting time to take care of myself would be rare. If I wanted to take care of me, it would require effort on my part to not let go of what made me feel good as a woman. After all, who wants to lose their mojo?

Those of you who are moms understand the typical “mom uniform” of yoga pants or sweats can get pretty boring. And dare I say, not always stylish?!

I find it important to look for comfortable pieces that also has style and allows you to look well put together. For me, some days that is boyfriend jeans and a tee or most recently, this combination I am wearing here. Printed leggings and this super soft velvet/velour hoodie. Which is probably the most comfortable and simple outfit in my closet!

You guys, I have worn this outfit OUT! From dropping Camille off at daycare, meeting a friend for breakfast or hitting the grocery store, this outfit has kept me all the way together. Not to mention I usually end up petting this sweatshirt because its so darn soft and comfy. I definitely cannot exclude these polka dot mesh leggings. Seriously, how cute are they?!

I hope this outfit idea shows you that not even a fashion blogger is ALWAYS in heels or dry clean only pieces. There is a time and a place for everything. And most times, comfort does win. But, sacrificing style is never an option!
