Hey Loves!

Isn’t this the cutest midi dress? This ice blue midi dress is so comfy and under $50! Its fitted with some stretch, which definitely allows some curves to come thru. But, is also comfy to wear! I kept this look simple with nude pumps and clutch. This is definitely a less is more situation and I love it. Anyways, this particular shoot was so much fun. Getting the flower petals to fall just right was no easy feat. I think this shoot shows its ok to laugh and let your hair down, even if things don’t turn how as you planned. Have fun and take in all the blessings you have!

If you can’t tell from the pictures, I am excited! Always Fashionably Late, a fashion and style blog created by me turns one this month!! Its funny, I always followed other bloggers and thought “hmmm maybe I can do that.” But, was too nervous, too unsure of myself to ever say it out loud. Do you have dreams or aspirations that you are scared to speak out loud? Loud enough for others to hear and know your thoughts? Well, I remember when I finally spoke it out loud to my husband as we were out for our anniversary dinner in October of 2014. I just had Camille in August and we were out celebrating on our first date without baby. When I was on maternity leave with Camille, the desire to do something I truly enjoyed became more real. I was able to spend time with her and enjoyed every moment. I dreaded leaving her to go back to work. I knew that I would be returning to a job where I was not fulfilled. I needed to do something for me! So it was time to vocalize what I had in mind to my husband and he said to me, ” Yeah, I think thats a good idea. Do it!”

Well, then! After that response,  a few months later I got a move on my blog. April of 2015 my blog went live! Check out my first blog post! Here I am, a year later and I can honestly say I am SO glad I got out of my own way and started my blog. I’ve learned so much along the way and it excites me! It moves me to do something I love! I love putting together these outfits and see people who love it as much as I do. I love meeting fellow bloggers here in Dallas and around the world who I may have never met before, but formed a unique bond with because they understand the blogging struggle. Blogging is A LOT of work. It takes time, energy, patience.You do every single thing related to getting your blog posted and promoted. Unless you got someone to do it for you (I’m not there yet). But, I’m speaking that out loud too!

Anyhow, I want to thank you, my readers, my audience, my friends! With your encouragement, here I am still pushing. Its high time I show my appreciation by this special giveaway. Hey loves! If you can tell by the title of this post, I am celebrating my 6 month blogiversary of my blog, Alwayz Fashionably Late!! I can’t believe that I finally started my fashion blog and have been going strong for six months!! It’s unreal!! I’ve rounded up for you my favorite top ten blog posts as a look back from where I got started. Please click on the links and take a look in case you missed it!
 When I first decided to start a blog, I was so fearful. I was nervous about the response I would get from those who know me, people who didn’t know me and what people would think of me blogging. I’m a very private person, I have a select group of friends and I don’t open up much to those I don’t know. As my mother would to say, “keep living and you’ll learn!” I never understood what that meant until I got older, but basically I’ve learned along the way that quality over quantity is key with relationships with others and I prefer it that way. But, starting a blog is opening myself up to others I don’t know. How and why would I do this?
Well, I knew how much I really felt inspired by other fashion bloggers because I could relate to them simply based on their style. You almost feel a little connected to bloggers you follow because they are letting you in on a piece of their life. Not everything is picture perfect as it seems, but you feel connected with others over the images they share that simply inspire you. So I thought, why can I not be that individual that inspire others? Maybe its high time I break, just a little, my shell and put myself out there and at least try.
Well, I tell you what, its been an amazing six months of blogging! I’ve met awesome bloggers, photographers, learned so much about the business of blogging and opened myself up to the possibility of making new friends who understands what this blog life is about. Its not easy! In case you didn’t know, it takes a lot of work! But, living in Dallas, I feel like I have an advantage because of so many great local bloggers, organizations and photographers are right here that I have worked and networked with that have made this journey so much easier.
I would like to thank you, my readers for the encouragement, sharing with friends and just for being you! I am definitely grateful and excited for bigger and better things to come. Of course, I have to thank my hubby for being so understanding and letting me do what makes me happy! Ok, enough of my thank you’s! I can’t wait to see what the next six months will bring to my blog!

Hi Everyone! How has your week been so far? Work has been crazy. It’s one of those weeks where I can’t get anything finished the way I want to. Do you have those days where you want to get something on your to do list done and it just won’t happen? Yeah, thats me! It frustrates me to no end.  Hopefully the last few days of this work week I can get back on track and be ready to enjoy my weekend.
Enough work talk, what about this romper? Is it not the cutest Fall romper around? I saw this gem and tried it on and the fit was perfect! It’s so comfortable that you can dress up, as I did here, or down. But, whats the fun in dressing it down? This is perfect for date night. If you live in Texas like me, you want light, comfortable, breezy fabrics you won’t melt in. This is one of them!
I hope you have a great weekend. I have a busy one coming up with a Blog Conference that I am excited about. I can’t wait to learn more about this blogging business and get my “A” game together!!

I struggle with wearing bright colors in the summer. My summer wardrobe typically consist of boyfriend jeans/shorts, tees and a wedge or sandal. The most color can typically be found on my feet lol. I say each time summer rolls around that I am going to do better with my summer wardrobe and play with color a little more. Well, I think I have achieved that here, no? These shorts are the perfect length, no cheeks showing here! The top? I absolutely love these type of blouses, they are so easy to throw on and keep it moving. The shoes, yep, they’re pretty much greatness!
I am super excited to share with you that I am now a part of rewardStyle!! If you are not familiar with rewardStyle, they have a great feature for Instagram users called LiketoKnow.It With LiketoKnow.It users can sign up and shop your favorite Instagramers (namely me lol) posts and have product links sent directly to your email! All you do once you’re signed up, is “like” my post and the product links are sent directly to you! I absolutely love this service because with just a “double tap” of an image, I can shop looks from my email without having to hunt and search for where the blogger purchased the item. I know, this is dangerous for a shopaholic. But, trust me, its truly worth it!
Be sure to sign up here if you haven’t already! I’d love to know if there is anyone else out there who struggles a bit with adding color to your summer wardrobe. I LOVE the autumn season, so I will be impatiently waiting for it to roll around. The way Dallas is set up, that may not be until November 🙁
