Date Night at home is something that my husband and I do often. When you have a child, getting in a date night isn’t always easy. So most times we head to Pinterest or a recipe site and find a meal to cook together. Yes, TOGETHER honey!! Since we started dating, we have cooked lots of meals together and it really is a lot of fun. Now if your man isn’t use to the kitchen, thats ok! Get him in the kitchen and have him cook with you! Date night at home is about having fun, not being particular about what it looks like or how it should be done. After all, this is a date night activity. You’re not trying to impress anyone here. If anything, it makes for great laughs. Especially when a glass of wine or a cocktail is involved. Thats how you really get the party started right!
I thought it would be fun to share with you one of our go to meals. Typically we will do steaks with a side dish or seafood and side dish. In today’s post, I am sharing with you a salmon recipe I found online that I have been cooking for years. It has made its way to many of bbq’s and get togethers at our house. It’s so good, that even my husband boys are like, “Is T gonna make that salmon?!” Yep, its that good! The original recipe calls for it to be made on the grill, which is when you really get the best smoked flavor. But, you can also bake it in the oven at 375 for about 20 mins for 1.5 lbs of salmon. Which is what I did in this post. I also like to sprinkle a little garlic salt and pepper on the salmon before it goes into the oven for extra flavor. Eric did a simple spinach and shrimp side that was soooo good! Its basically shrimp sautéed in the pan with olive oil, your desired seasonings, chopped onion (I’m the onion chopper in the relationship lol) and a splash of wine for flavor. He then added a bag of spinach and let it wilt down. Its so super good, quick and easy! Sometimes having a light meal is all you need without feeling weighed down for the night. Also, we sometimes like to make cocktails too! Eric is the bartender in the relationship as mixing drinks is not my lane lol. So find fun drink recipes too and enjoy each others company!! Sometimes a tipsy wife makes for an even more fun evening if you catch that tea lol.
I really enjoyed this shoot! I pulled out my new camera and tripod, used a remote and shot away. The day of the shoot was super busy for me, so we got started later than I planned and I didn’t get a lot of natural light in. Blogger problems! But, hey sometimes its nice to not be “picture perfect” ALLLL the time. Sometimes life gets a little hazy, blurry and out of frame. Guess what, its really not that big of a deal. Enjoy the moments with your love and have fun! Life is what you make it, right??
