Ok, Dallas I don’t have time for this heat! If this is what hell feels like, I know for sure I better live right!! Lol. The heat here in Dallas is the main reason I have not done a photo shoot. The heat is exhausting. Not to mention, who wants to take pictures while they are sweating?? Not me! So anytime I have plans for brunch or just meeting up with a friend, its prime time for a photo shoot. So lets queue this Anthropologie cold/open shoulder dress on sale for under $50!! Girl, its all that!

 

You all know how much I love dresses, especially for summer. I went into Anthro this week just to look at their home items. But, I saw they had a major sale going on and GIRL. Soon many cute things!  I had a handful of clothes that I loved, but this piece had to come with me. The tangerine color looks so good on darker skin tones, the fabric is very breathable. The best part, this dress is $49 and 30% off the sale price!!  I did a round up of all of my favorite pieces from the Anthropologie sale going on. 10 SHORTS UNDER $50 THAT DON’T SHOW YOUR BUTT CHEEKS

Boyfriend shorts are my easy, go to’s when it comes to shorts! They have a loose fit, typically some nice distressing and guess what? They are age appropriate for a girl over 30! I wore a pair of boyfriend shorts on my Instagram the other week.  Some of you asked where did I find shorts long enough that my butt cheeks aren’t hanging out? LOL the struggle is so real! I immediately knew how they felt. When I go shopping and look for a pair of shorts, its so hard! They are beyond short! I’m talking “Daisy Dukes.” I’m sorry, but I can’t go around with booty shorts on. How is that even comfortable?

Anyways, I rounded up ten pair of denim shorts that are butt cheek friendly, all under $50!! I hope you find this a little helpful in your quest to find cute, stylish, age appropriate shorts. Lets face it, we don’t want to wear shorts that either a) you look like an 18 year old in (although I don’t mind looking younger lol)  or b) shorts that look like you’re wearing a diaper or an 80’s fanny pack! So not cute!

Hey There!! It’s time to get that Christmas shopping started if you can believe it. I’ve got some great gift guides for your bestie or nearest and dearest friends. I’ve created ” The Girlfriend’s Guide to Gift Giving” series to help you find the perfect gift for your girl! I will cover the fashionista, the happy hostess, the homebody and the foodie! Today’s installment is focused on your fashionista friend. You know the one, the friend who is always so stylish, up on the latest trends and can usually be found at the mall (this is so me) lol.

You can never go wrong with a great pair of gloves, gorgeous purse or sparkly accessories with the fashionista. If you really want to give her a special gift, a chic leather jacket or leopard cape would be perfect for this stylish girl. Really, there is something in this guide for the fashionista out there! From one fashionista to another, I’d take one of each please 🙂

Hi There! Thanks for stopping by for today’s blog post. The weather here in Dallas is still transitioning to fall. So I thought it was perfect to bring out my favorite leather pants and leopard studded heels before it gets too cold. I also am wearing the Banana Republic Olive trench dress I wore a few blog posts back. Check it out here! As you may know, olive is a huge fashion trend this fall. Its also one of my favorite colors to wear. So I was super happy to find this dress. Oh, make sure to size down as it runs big and it is NOT fitted!! But, I love how you can style this dress in many ways, especially in this look with the leather pants. It’s nothing like getting multiple uses out of a clothing item to further justify your purchase, am I right?
Also, sorry that I did not post Tuesday. I was simply exhausted Monday night and had not one bit of energy left to do anything besides get in the bed. I don’t know if its mommy hood or getting older that  makes me so tired, but its challenging. I always advocate to take care of your health first and rest, so that’s exactly what I did. I feel better now, so back to business as usual!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I’m loving this “Girl Boss” look. This outfit is suitable for work, church or whatever you want it to be. I love layering jackets, blazers and vests over my dresses. What a perfect pairing when I combined this sleeveless trench dress and my new Banana Republic olive trench dress to create this look! The sleeveless trench dress is last year Ann Taylor. Although I loved the dress, it never fit me right when I wore it buttoned as a dress, but I held on to it with plans to layer it and leave it open. Ironically, this olive trench dress is a bit difficult to find a good fit in as well. You definitely have to go a size down or two because this dress runs big and the fit is not very tailored so keep that in mind.
I was so happy to make these two dresses work by wearing them together. I wanted to share with you to always look for pieces that are interchangeable.  This makes it super easy to maximize your looks and get the most wear out of your closet. This will allow me to wear the sleeveless trench dress with a long sleeve top and jeans for another outfit idea. I can also pair the olive trench dress with cute leather leggings and heels to create a fresh new look.

The weather is finally changing and cooling down a bit in Dallas. It’s the perfect time to start layering and adding stylish fall vests to your closet. I love vests for this reason and there are so many great, affordable options out there to build your fall wardrobe with. I love that these vests are neutral in tone and can work with so many outfit options. You could layer them with a long sleeve sweater or t shirt with jeans or leather leggings, or edge up a knit dress by topping it off with a vest as well. Fall vest’s are my go- to as the weather turns crisp and chilly. I can’t wait to pull out mine to wear for the Pumpkin Patch this weekend!!

This time of year is all about layering up for the dropping temperatures. I love wearing a warm jacket and topping off the look with a stylish scarf! I’ve rounded up a few jacket/scarf combinations that I am sure you will love. I love wearing scarves in the Fall! Especially blanket scarves, they are so cozy.
