Hey loves! I’m back with another post! Let me tell you, this week has been terrible for me. Remember I told you all about my little one going to a back up daycare for the week click here? Well, it was going ok until she caught hand, foot and mouth!!! Like seriously?! I CANNOT!!! Needless to say I am a devastated mommy. She’s acting completely normal and playful thankfully. But, it started Monday with her having a fever of 101. I thought maybe it was teething, she slept fine throughout the night and no fever in the morning so I didn’t worry. Well, Tuesday night my husband noticed bumps on her knees and elbows. We thought it was maybe a skin irritation that she had from crawling, so we gave her an oatmeal bath and thought she was fine. But, yesterday morning we picked her up to get ready to go and noticed it spread all over her legs and arms. I called the doctor immediately and brought her in and she confirmed that its the dreaded hand, foot and mouth.
My mommy guilt right now is at a 10!! The daycare did advise that they had a case the prior week of hand, foot and mouth, but I was trying to think positively that she wouldn’t get it. I even used essential oils as a preventative measure to ensure we took extra precaution. But, I probably should of not even admitted her into the daycare in the first place. I’ve already shed tears about it last night. But, I know that “all things work together for good to them that love God” from Romans 8:28 KJV. So I just have to believe that and know that this will pass. I am learning every day that motherhood is a complete act of selflessness and let me tell you, if I could take this from her,I surely would. So we are laying low until the sores heal and I am showering her with lots of love!! For mommies out there, how do you handle the guilt of situations like this? I broke down last night and cried at the dinner table while eating my Chili’s takeout lol. My husband looked at me like really? But, I was emotionally drained and just had to let it out. I am doing way better and just looking forward to a speedy recovery for her.
