If you are following me on Instagram (you are following me, right?), you know that I was on vacation to San Francisco a few weeks ago. My family and I went to San Francisco to visit my brother in law and his girlfriend. It was my first time in Cali as an adult (going at 5 years old doesn’t count, right?). We had so much fun exploring the city!
I love jumpsuits! One piece outfits are so easy and wearable to say the least. So when I saw one of my favorite Youtube’s, LisaLisaD1 wear a denim jumpsuit, I went on an immediate search to find the perfect one.

I have quite a thing for a good graphic tee. But, a graphic tee and flare jeans together is my jam! I really don’t show my flare jeans much love. But, as soon as I slip them on, I am reminded of how comfortable and stylish they really are. I also have a pair of white ones that I wore on a previous post that I absolutely love. If flares aren’t your thing, there are always plenty of bootcut options out there that would look great on any body type. As for me right now, I’m into flare jeans… bad!
I think that I am a little picky when it comes to a graphic tee. It has to have the right wording, lettering, everything! The process of finding the perfect one is so hard for me. As soon as I saw this one, it was love at first sight! It reminds me of something Karen would say on “Will and Grace.” To me, a graphic tee is a great way to elevate your look. Pair it with a blazer, bomber jacket and your favorite jeans– I love it!

I’m back at it with another off shoulder piece! This time its the off shoulder denim dress thats receiving my love and affection. I’ve been scouring the internet looking for an off shoulder denim dress and could not find one that I loved. I purchased one at Express, but I wasn’t completely feeling it. So, I decided to check out Zara and they did NOT disappoint me! As soon as I slipped it on, it was love at first sight! The small details in this dress is what makes it so unique and stylish. A few reasons why I fell in love with this dress.. Number one: pockets! Hello–shouldn’t every dress have pockets? I think so! Number 2: it has a short sleeve which allows it to lay nicely when wearing it off OR on your shoulders. Number 3: You can also wear it on the shoulder (which is how I am wearing it), which leads back to point number 2. Its nothing like getting two different looks from one piece! Lastly, number 4: its super lightweight and comfortable, perfect for spring/ summer weather!
Do you know about My Other Bag? Its an amazing shop that carries recycled, designer inspired tote bags! I stumbled across My Other Bag on Instagram and fell in love with this style called “London- Kiss.” The bags are so cute and multi functional. I can’t wait to use them for travel, shopping and maybe the gym… whenever that will be. I gotta do better 🙂

I bought this denim dress last year at one of my favorite go to stores for great sales, J.Crew Factory! As soon as I tried it on, I was in love. Its hard to find the perfect denim dress! Either they are way too short, too flimsy, or has unnecessary detailing. So when you run across a gem like this one, you buy it.. IMMEDIATELY! I was happy that they brought this dress back this spring so that you can get it too. It appears to be the same dress except the buttons are different. What I love about this dress is that it does not require much but a few accessories to bring it to life. However, the styling of the dress definitely gives you something to work with. I love the slits of the hem on the side of the dress which makes it a little flirty and modern. The cut of this dress is very flattering too, so its not hanging on you like a sack. I added a preppy vibe by popping’ my collar and rollin up the sleeves. After all, I am wearing J. Crew folks!
Again, this dress really doesn’t require much! It’s simple, lightweight and perfect for spring! I adored pairing it with my favorite, taupe, lace up sandals and leather bag. Add a bright lip and statement sunnies and you are on your way my friend!

An off shoulder top is “THE MUST HAVE” for Spring! This spring trend is hot and I’m here for it! Its such an easy top to wear for whatever occasion. It can be understated and flirty or bold and sexy. Its up to you! The fact that it can be dressed up or down makes it a “go- to” for your spring wardrobe. Jeans, skirts, shorts, leggings. Yes, its everything you need! Whats super cute about the one I am wearing are the ties at the wrist! Its all about the details folks! This off shoulder top is also very light weight, comes in four different colors and under $20 bucks?? I’ll take one of each please!!
A few posts back I mentioned wanting a pair of white flare jeans. I was out and about shopping, doing my thing, when I wondered across the most perfect pair! The fit is amazing, yet comfortable. The flare is just enough without looking like bell bottoms. I mean, I love the 70s but not all the time. I wore them out to dinner recently and paired it with olive green and camel accessories. It was such a sophisticated look that I can’t wait to wear again. Don’t be surprised if you see it on the blog!

Can you believe that Mother’s Day is around the corner? Last year I celebrated my first official Mother’s Day. The range of emotions I felt were unreal. Becoming a mommy is an amazing, overwhelming, yet beautiful feeling! Just knowing that I am blessed enough to have been chosen to be Camille’s mommy-what an honor! I pretty much cried the entire Mother’s Day weekend last year- and I’m sure this year will be no exception.

I was so excited when francesca’s asked me what being a mom means to me and how my own mother has inspired me. I thought it was the perfect time to get a little heartfelt on the blog as this topic is so near and dear to my heart. But, I felt it only right (and about time) to include Camille in this blog shoot! After all, she is the key to my heart. But, I knew I would be in for an emotional ride in writing this post. Therefore, I have tissues nearby because tears are imminent.
Before I had my daughter, Mother’s Day was a holiday that I pretty much avoided. My mother passed away in August 2010 of cancer. Mother’s Day became hurtful and emotionally draining. It was a void in my life that was deep and terribly empty. As I got older the relationship I had with my mom grew stronger and we became closer. My mom always told me when I was younger that she was my best friend lol. I didn’t understand then why she would say that. I had my own friends right? But, I started to understand what she meant the older I grew. I could tell her anything and trust that she would have my best interest at heart. Even if it meant telling me things I did not want to hear (which she was good at lol). Every day I wish that I still had my mother here to chat on the phone, go shopping with, and of course share in the love of seeing her granddaughter grow up.
Camille will be two in August. Where has the time gone? Every day she continues to show me that she is growing, learning, and changing. I want to protect her and shield her from this beautiful but crazy thing called life. I never understood why my mother was so protective over me, even as I got older. My mother used to say, “When you become a mom, you will understand.” Now I see that. After my mother passed away, I didn’t really understand how I could move forward. Life was just not the same. I knew I wanted to have children and it seemed like my husband and I were having the most difficult time. That is, until God blessed me with my baby girl. Camille is my angel on earth! My heart has never been so full of joy and happiness. I look at her in amazement every day. Every night before she goes to bed, I sing to her, I rock her, and tell her “Mommy loves you to the moon and beyond!” That is what motherhood means to me: unconditional, powerful, bountiful love.

I am not a sneaker girl, AT ALL! I think I own maybe two pairs that I bought years ago and they still look like new. With that being said, when I saw these Nike Air Pegasus 83 in Rose Gold sneakers on Instagram, I HAD to have them. I love sneakers that don’t look like sneakers. Does that make sense? I gravitate towards sleek, non bulky gym shoes (oh that’s my Midwest talkin’) if I’m going to wear them. Of course, they must have a little style and edge. For day’s when I am running errands I just want a comfortable, stylish shoe to put on that I don’t have to think about. I also wore these cuties here on a previous blog post. You can see how versatile this sneaker really is. I like how effortless they are and will be so easy to wear. Plus, I am pretty much obsessed with rose gold. Clearly it was a winner for me! And let’s be real, I have a very active toddler so teetering around in heels trying to keep up with her is no bueno. I am still giving mommy fierceness, but my sneaker game is on point! Yes!
The unfortunate thing about the NIKE AIR PEGASUS 83 in rose gold is that they are pretty much sold out. They also come in a cute Metallic Bronze color and have a few sizes left. I can only find the Black with Rose Gold in Size 7. So if that’s you, run, IMMEDIATELY add to cart! I bought these shoes a few months ago, who knows if they will restock. I would not wait ladies. This shoe is too cute to pass up on. I don’t want my stylish friends out there to miss out on this chic sneaker.

Isn’t this the cutest midi dress? This ice blue midi dress is so comfy and under $50! Its fitted with some stretch, which definitely allows some curves to come thru. But, is also comfy to wear! I kept this look simple with nude pumps and clutch. This is definitely a less is more situation and I love it. Anyways, this particular shoot was so much fun. Getting the flower petals to fall just right was no easy feat. I think this shoot shows its ok to laugh and let your hair down, even if things don’t turn how as you planned. Have fun and take in all the blessings you have!
If you can’t tell from the pictures, I am excited! Always Fashionably Late, a fashion and style blog created by me turns one this month!! Its funny, I always followed other bloggers and thought “hmmm maybe I can do that.” But, was too nervous, too unsure of myself to ever say it out loud. Do you have dreams or aspirations that you are scared to speak out loud? Loud enough for others to hear and know your thoughts? Well, I remember when I finally spoke it out loud to my husband as we were out for our anniversary dinner in October of 2014. I just had Camille in August and we were out celebrating on our first date without baby. When I was on maternity leave with Camille, the desire to do something I truly enjoyed became more real. I was able to spend time with her and enjoyed every moment. I dreaded leaving her to go back to work. I knew that I would be returning to a job where I was not fulfilled. I needed to do something for me! So it was time to vocalize what I had in mind to my husband and he said to me, ” Yeah, I think thats a good idea. Do it!”
Well, then! After that response, a few months later I got a move on my blog. April of 2015 my blog went live! Check out my first blog post! Here I am, a year later and I can honestly say I am SO glad I got out of my own way and started my blog. I’ve learned so much along the way and it excites me! It moves me to do something I love! I love putting together these outfits and see people who love it as much as I do. I love meeting fellow bloggers here in Dallas and around the world who I may have never met before, but formed a unique bond with because they understand the blogging struggle. Blogging is A LOT of work. It takes time, energy, patience.You do every single thing related to getting your blog posted and promoted. Unless you got someone to do it for you (I’m not there yet). But, I’m speaking that out loud too!
Anyhow, I want to thank you, my readers, my audience, my friends! With your encouragement, here I am still pushing. Its high time I show my appreciation by this special giveaway.
