A floral off shoulder top, say what? Yes, loves! This one is a keeper in my book. Even in high, sweltering 90 degree heat, the swing and movement of this light weight piece kept me easy breezy! I purchased this beauty from ILY Couture during their Memorial Day sale. ILY Couture had my heart a few years ago when I saw this gorgeous sweatshirt on Instagram and I had to have it! They always have stylish, but wearable pieces that you can wear years from now and still look in style. Don’t you love when that happens? This floral off shoulder top mixed with the fringe sandals and leopard clutch makes me smile. Mixing different prints and textures, such as the fringe in these gorgeous shoes, adds unexpected details to your outfit that simply works!

I loved this floral off shoulder number so much, I also purchased it in the blush pink version too! I cant wait to pair it with a simple white pencil skirt or white jeans. Its going to make such a simple, but sophisticated look. Which I am all about by the way! Or you can pair it with gray tones as well to add a bit of luxe to your look!

Hey Loves!

Don’t you just adore the sleeve on this top? Bell sleeves are definitely another 2016 trend! Its a cute, flirty but dramatic look that I love so much. I will definitely wear this top with shorts, skirts and of course my favorite: boyfriend jeans! I also pulled out one my favorite bags! My dad bought this for me as my graduation present for college a few years ago. So its near and dear to my heart. Anyways, its no longer available, but I linked a few similar cross body bags I am sure you will love!

I am sorry I have been a little quiet lately. I’ve been a little busy! Not only do I work full time job, have a toddler, am a wife and fashion blogger, but I also decided to start working out too. LOL. There are NOT enough hours in the day people! All I want to do after I work out or cook dinner is lay in the bed and watch tv! My husband side of the family and I have all started a weight loss challenge this past week. For six weeks we are to get our lives together and lose some weight!! So we must work out at least 3 times a week- texting proof of our workouts and of course shed some pounds!! At the end, whoever loses the most weight and maintains their workouts will win some cash! Mama needs a new purse! So I am not playing any games, ok!

I know you’re thinking, girl please you don’t need to lose anything! Oh yes I do friends, this stomach fat is no joke! I don’t know where it came from, but I want it to get thee behind me Satan (Martin anyone?) lol. If you want to follow my journey to getting fit, follow me on Snapchat (ALWAYZFASHLATE)!! My focus: no caffeine, sweets, cut down on meat, eat more fruits and veggies and drink lots of water! I’ve lost 2.5 pounds so far and one inch off the waist. My goal is to lose 5 pounds which I think will help with the tummy section. If I can get this stomach back flat, I will be one happy lady!

You guys know I love Target right?! I mean, who doesn’t! On one of my MANY trips there I came across this GORGEOUS olive midi dress for ONLY $30! You wouldn’t even think that its Target right? Well, it most certainly is! Stay Woke! Lol. This dress is a part of their “Who What Wear” collection. What is “Who What Wear?” Well, its an amazing online fashion magazine that features street style, celebrity fashion and so much more!! They actually collaborated with Target and have their very own collection thats in stores now. The pieces are very affordable, stylish and chic. I mean, a $30 midi dress that looks like $100? I’ll take it!

Hey gorgeous!

Its hard out here being a fashion blogger! You have to have an endless amount of new clothes to post looks that people will love, right? Not always the truth! Money doesn’t grow on trees honey! Therefore, I’m always remixing things from my closet to come up with new, fresh looks and style ideas. Hence, this look! My new faux suede jacket along with my old fav’s: the fringe sandal! I was in need for a little pick me up and stopped by the mall for something new. I’ve been on the hunt for a great, AFFORDABLE, tan suede jacket and have failed to find one. So when I saw this little number, I knew I had to have it. Its lightweight, in the prettiest camel shade and under $50?! You already know what it is! I bought it immediately! Its a perfect little jacket to have on hand for cool evenings to throw on with jeans and hit the door. I loved that I was able to style this with my favorite fringe sandals. These babies are very comfortable and the movement you get when you walk is so haute! You may have seen these on the blog before and if you haven’t purchased them, then you need to. My favorite fringe sandals are definitely a must for summer with dresses, skirts, boyfriend jeans… the options go on and on!

I mentioned that the month of April is my blogiversary! I’ve been blogging for one year and boy, its been a ride! I want to celebrate by offering some special giveaways to my readers. Hello again! I am excited that spring is here in Dallas! This means its time to pull out the bright and colorful pieces in your closet that may have not received much love during the winter. For spring and summer, I am all about my skirts. I absolutely love wearing midi and maxi skirts this time of year! So when Eryn of CAS- CLOTHING asked me to try a piece from her clothing line, I immediately said yes! I met Eryn a few months back from our Galentine’s Day collaboration and we also happen to use the same blog photographer as well. Let me tell you, she is a #GirlBoss! Wife, mom, and clothing designer?! WERK! The cool thing about her clothing line is that it caters to the tall woman. However, her “made to order” line allows you to select the length of certain pieces, such as her skirts and pants. Amazing right? As soon as I saw this Ankara print midi skirt, it was love at first sight! The Ankara print has been all the rage in fashion lately. This vibrant and bold Ankara print midi skirt was perfect the moment I slipped it on. I asked to add pockets and to make the skirt ankle length so that I could wear with heels or flats. As you can see, its GORGEOUS!! Its going to get worn so much this summer. I can’t wait to style it in so many different ways!

The Perfect Bomber Jacket and Strong Friendships!

Hey Loves! I’m glad to have you stop by the blog today. After three attempts of my laptop shutting down on me, I sure hope you enjoy this post! I’m back wearing this adorable olive green bomber jacket again. I always reach for it when I head out the house. Its great finding those “trendy” yet practical pieces to incorporate in your wardrobe. I have a feeling this bomber jacket will be worn plenty, trend or not! I’m also wearing my favorite leather jogger pants. These pants are one of my go to’s. For $15, you better get you a pair NOW!! Its nothing like comfy pants (drawstring waist anyone?) you can wear day or night and feel like a fashionista!! I’m also loving my sunglasses. Target always gets me in the accessory aisle. These “cat eye” sunglasses are no exception and I am happy to add them to my collection.

A few weeks back, I wrote a blog post called “Twenty Things You Don’t Know About Me” and I spoke on how cautious I am with friendships. I wanted to touch base on this a little bit. I’m 34 years old and I have had a few experiences on failed friendships. One: my best friend that I had known since high school, decided that she no longer wanted to be my friend after I got married in 2009 and I haven’t heard from her since. How did that come to be? I have no clue and couldn’t tell you! Two: my college friends/roommates and I had a huge falling out, partially over an idiot boyfriend I was dealing with. I saw a side of my “friends” that I didn’t like or trust. In looking back, I wish I never met the guy! Maybe if I didn’t, I still would’ve been friends with these ladies. But, in my heart I knew it was a good thing that the “friendships” were no more and I have no regrets.

Finding friends as a woman is completely different then men. Men can bond easily over sports, Playstation games or any other random topic. For women, it takes an open mind to be willing to connect with another woman. As I said in my previous post, I didn’t make friends until a year after I moved here. Its important to have solid friendships you can count on. Someone you can share things with and be yourself. So today, I want to encourage you to evaluate your friendships! Are you pouring into them more then they are pouring into you? Do you feel in your heart this person has your back, cheers you on and loves you? Do they show signs of envy? Mistrust? Is this friendship only for a season or a lifetime?

It was in my heart to share with you some of the different types of friendships in my life currently that I love and would not change for the world.

1) Can call at anytime and talk about absolutely nothing

2) Haven’t talked in months or years but can pick up the conversation like nothing changed

3) Text buddies: life is busy and a phone call may take too much effort. But, a text is just as fun too!

4) The friend who cheers you on, share your deepest secrets and is proud to be your friend

5) The friend you have known all your life that you can talk about childhood memories and experiences with from way back when.

I saw this quote on Instagram and boy, did it resonate with me!

“You don’t need a certain number of friends. You just need a number of friends you can be certain of!”

Happy Sunday! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner its time to peep into your closet and put together a stylish look! If you’re like me, when date night rolls around or special occasions like Valentine’s I always draw a blank on what to wear. More like hating everything in my closet and wonder where are my tops, dresses and everything else lol. So this time around, I thought ahead and managed to put together an edgy look, but yet chic look for you. This simple silk, one shoulder top is absolutely perfect for a special night and can you believe I found it on thredUp? thredUp is a wonderful site where you can find gently used or like new clothing by great brands at a fabulous price! This gorgeous top, along with my favorite ripped, boyfriend jeans and my favorite camel coat makes for an easy outfit. Throw on some great jewelry and you’re good to go!

Reversible Cape and Over The Knee Boot Please!

Hi there friends! One thing is for certain, I have been a girl all about capes and ponchos this fall/winter season. They are quick and easy to throw on and make a quick outfit. For me, I have to find one that is the perfect length that allows my legs to show and give me a bit of height. This ASOS cape does just that! It is a bit wide on me, so I used a skinny belt to create some shape and flare. Also, this cape is REVERSIBLE! So you get two looks for one cape, great buy if you ask me!! I am also wearing my favorite Over The Knee boot this season, the “Gorgeous” boot by Steve Madden! It is the PERFECT dupe for the Stuart Weitzman “Highland” boot. For under $150, I have no problem indulging in this look for less option.

Blush Pink and Gray… Why Not?!

You already know I’ve been in a blush pink sorta mood lately if you seen my previous blog posts (click here and here). It’s such a soft, flirty, subdued color that I am totally into. Blush pink paired along with cool gray tones of the moto jeans and fringe booties (worn previously here) offers up serious eye candy! I am really in love with the quilted bag!! It’s a great Chanel “look for less” option with a wallet friendly price point. Sadly, its sold out at the moment. But, if you stalk the site, hopefully they’ll restock soon. Its such a great piece and I want you to have it!! I’ll also post on my Instagram if I notice that its restocked.

I wish you a great week! This Friday is my 34th birthday! I am thankful to God for allowing me to see another year. I can’t wait to share it with friends and my family this upcoming weekend.
