Hello loves! Its Thursday and that means I am a happy camper as the weekend is upon us! When I styled this look, I knew I wanted it to be a little casual, but impactful. Dallas weather this winter has been all over the place, its cold one-minute and warm the next. So I took to layering up! I did a nod to the 90s movie “Clueless,” by wearing a crop top over a flowy blouse and a little print mixing! The burgundy cropped turtleneck and handbag adds warmth and depth to the look. Throw in a great pair of distressed, ripped jeans and faux fur pom poms for the cutest details. This is a great outfit because you get a balancing act of using two bold prints: camouflage and leopard together. I’d like to share a few of my own personal tips for print mixing. I always admire the girls that can throw on three different prints and make it work. But, I’m a little conservative when it comes to print mixing. I don’t want to look like I got dressed in the dark lol. I still want to look effortless and maintain my sense of style. Don’t let print mixing overwhelm you. I have five tips of how I incorporate print mixing in my wardrobe that works for me!

1. Be open to trying different patterns and prints- Leopard, floral, plaid, polka dots, camouflage, tweed, stripes etc. Write down the prints you currently have and create combinations. This allows you to think a little outside of the box and get the creative juices flowing!

2. There’s levels to this- Determine how bold you are willing to go with print mixing. Personally, I don’t want my prints “competing” with one another. In today’s look, you can see how I wore the camo jacket and the leopard shoes together. But, notice how these two prints are not close to one another. To me, this is an easier approach to mixing prints since they’re not directly next to each other.

3. Wear one bold print and a smaller print – Imagine a floral dress with huge flowers and a leopard coat with gigantic spots. It’s too much!! Try wearing a floral dress with smaller floral print and a leopard coat with bigger spots or vice versa. Tone down the proportions of the print for more impact and wearability.

4. Accessorize- don’t forget, you can incorporate accessories when print mixing too! Honestly, accessories are a great start for a rookie print mixer. Take note of my tortoise shell sunglasses! Its a small touch but another print added to the mix. An easy print to start with is leopard! A leopard bracelet or leopard handbag or shoes can just about work with any other print. Leopard is all the rage right now. Embrace it!

5. Back to step 1, those combinations you wrote down? Yes, its time to try it all on. Allow yourself to visually see how the prints look on your frame and body. Discover what works for you and makes you the most comfortable when mixing prints. You’d be surprised at what you come up with!

Hi there! So glad you stopped by the blog today. I’m keeping it pretty “simple” in today’s look. A military style jacket, cozy turtleneck and ripped boyfriend jeans all come together for this easy, sophisticated look.  You could wear this anywhere and look pulled together and amazing! I’m not sure if I ever shared, but Olivia Palermo (from the old MTV reality show “The City”) is my “style icon” and all time favorite fashionista. I always feel that she gets it “right!” So this look is inspired by her! Her looks are simple, but yet so chic and sophisticated. If you are not familiar with her, Google her!! She can literally do no wrong when it comes to fashion in my eyes…

Who is your “style icon?”

You already know I’ve been in a blush pink sorta mood lately if you seen my previous blog posts (click here and here). It’s such a soft, flirty, subdued color that I am totally into. Blush pink paired along with cool gray tones of the moto jeans and fringe booties (worn previously here) offers up serious eye candy! I am really in love with the quilted bag!! It’s a great Chanel “look for less” option with a wallet friendly price point. Sadly, its sold out at the moment. But, if you stalk the site, hopefully they’ll restock soon. Its such a great piece and I want you to have it!! I’ll also post on my Instagram if I notice that its restocked.
I wish you a great week! This Friday is my 34th birthday! I am thankful to God for allowing me to see another year. I can’t wait to share it with friends and my family this upcoming weekend.
See you Tuesday for my next post!!

Happy 2016!!! I am a girl who loves coats! It could be because I grew up in Michigan and every fall, my mom and I would go shopping for new winter coats. I would always get one for school and one for church. Even though I now live in Dallas and our winters are short, I pretty much buy a new coat each year. It’s such a habit and I don’t mind one bit. My mom was tall at 5’9 and I would always envy her ability to wear ankle length coats because they just looked so fabulous on her. She was a fashionista too (Rest in Heaven Mom)! I’m only 5’3-but all legs, however, there aren’t many long coats out there that I can rock without drowning in them. Well, when I spotted this one I knew I had to have it. It’s more of a midi length coat which is perfect for my height. The fact that it has a funnel neck and a gorgeous camel color was icing on the cake! I personally would wear it with heels to give me some height. But, I’ve seen plenty of Pinterest pictures of women wearing coats like this with sneakers and I’m feeling it!
I can’t believe that we are already into a new year. When I started this blog, almost a year ago, I didn’t know if I could fully commit to it. Being a new mom is amazing and challenging at the same time. Also, trying to meet the demands of every day life can be a juggling act. But, the fact is this blog has motivated me like never before! I have so many things that I want to do to take my blog to the next level! I feel that my blog has taken me places, allowed me to meet people and do things that I would have never thought could happen. It’s only the beginning but I am still amazed at how far along I’ve come being a blogger. It’s crazy how certain opportunities have fallen in my lap at the most perfect time. It’s so unreal! It’s as if God is saying, “I told you this was for you!”
When I initially started my blog, I thought, “ok, so you’ll do the blog and that can be an extension of yourself. Something you can do on the side that you’ll enjoy.” Well, scratch that! It means so much more to me than that. My mindset is now “lets go from a blog to a brand!!” I’m ready to get started my friends. Tell me, what are you going to do in 2016 to go to the next level??
Let’s grow together and make it happen!!

Hey Loves! Its been such a long time since I’ve done a “Style Craving” post. If you are not familiar, I typically post a collage of items that I am currently craving for my closet. Blush pink has been such a popular shade over the past few years and its easy to understand why. Its such a subdued shade that works well as a neutral, has a hint of understated sexiness and in my opinion,  perfect for any occasion or season! I recently did a blog post wearing this gorgeous hue, click here! I’ve rounded up my favorite blush tone pieces as well as other nude shades that are sure to please your closet.

Which ones are your favs? I’ll take all of the shoes please!

See you Thursday for another fabulous outfit post!!

I love to wear dresses! Especially a maxi dress. I’m 5’3, but all legs so they’re usually a perfect length on me. This one is no exception!! I popped into Forever 21 the other day to do a little Christmas shopping and got a little sidetracked when I came across this number. It’s the perfect “nude-blush” shade that shows just enough décolletage and a little.. or a lot of leg. It’s up to you! I think this is a perfect dress for New Year’s Eve, its sexy and sophisticated at the same time. Pair it with lace up heels and a statement clutch and you’re ready to party the night away! Proper foundation garments are a must with this dress ladies! It is a little thin. I would definitely wear a good shaper underneath to keep you smooth and held in.
I can’t believe we are headed into 2016. I can’t wait to start the year off with a bang!! I definitely have some new goals I want to achieve. Especially with the blog! More on that to come soon!
See you Tuesday for my next post!!

Can you believe that Christmas is only days away? I have so much to do and so little time. It’s a little hard to get into the Christmas spirit here in Dallas when the weather is still quite warm. I was excited to head to New York over a week ago to experience some winter weather. Well, was I in for a  surprise when the high was 60 degrees during the time we were there! It was still a little chilly, but perfect weather to layer with fur vests, knee boots and parka jackets. I love layering because you can take off or add on and still be warm, as well as comfortable. I also find its better to carry a smaller bag when layering outfits so that you’re not adding on any additional bulk. This merlot, suede cross body bag was the perfect companion for touring the city. It holds so much and is so easy to throw on and go! I wore it as a cross body and as a clutch for night time attire as well.
I promise to fill you in on more details about my trip to New York very soon! As I said earlier, I have so much to do to prepare for Christmas. So I better let you go and jump on my Christmas shopping ASAP!
See you Tuesday for my last Girlfriends Guide to Gift Giving post. I have a few gift ideas for the Foodie in mind!!

Hey Loves! I’m back from my NYC Girls Trip!! We had so much fun taking in the sights, eating great food and enjoying the magic that is Christmas in NYC. Check out my Insta for pics! While I was there, I was able to squeeze in a blog shoot as well. I’ve always envied those gorgeous, New York Street Style photos I always see. So I just knew that I had to make it happen. The weather was just perfect while we were there. So I pulled out my go to leather jacket, along with the coveted Zara blanket scarf and Prada sunnies to give me that “New York State of Mind” type vibe.
Let’s talk about this t-shirt for a sec! Isn’t it the cutest? I saw this on my Insta feed and knew I needed to find it. I’ve linked this t-shirt for you below. Trust me, you need it in your life. It’s the realest t shirt out there am I right?!
Stop back again Sunday for another NYC look that will be on the blog. I’ll also chat a little about where we stayed, ate and other deets!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!! I am quite obsessed with leather leggings. I think I may have about ten pair and counting. I swear they speak to me and are my go- to for fall and winter wear. I’ve had these pair of olive green leather leggings for a few years now and was never quite sure how to wear them. I just knew that I loved them and had to have them. Well, I was on my Pinterest as usual and saw the above image. I knew I had to recreate it and put my own spin on it. I pulled out these leggings and knew they were perfect for this look. I also added one of my favorite statement bags to pull in the burgundy shades along with the shoes,  I intended to wear a jean jacket with this outfit, but in my haste out the door to this shoot, I left it at home. #bloggerproblems

I am super excited that next weekend I am headed to New York for a girls trip!! This will be my first time away from Camille, ever! I know I’ll be a little emotional leaving her, but I need this get away. It will be nice to take a break from worrying about bottles, nap time and diaper changes. Now its time to leave her in daddy’s capable hands…. this should be interesting!
See you upon my return from NY! Be sure to follow me on Instagram, I will be sure to post lots of Christmas in NYC pics!!

I am loving the weather we have now. Crisp, cool air perfect for layering and the like! I get excited because I have tons of fall and winter clothes but barely summer. So this time of year, is my time to shine!!! Its super easy to layer with your favorite sweatshirts and button down blouses as well. I also  love layering with sweatshirts because I don’t have to iron so that right there is a win in itself lol. As you can tell, I’m back in my favorite camouflage pants and dressed it up a bit this time. I loved print mixing the camo with the snakeskin pump.
It’s so unexpected, but it works!!
