Hey Loves!
If you are following me on Instagram (you are following me, right?), you know that I was on vacation to San Francisco a few weeks ago. My family and I went to San Francisco to visit my brother in law and his girlfriend. It was my first time in Cali as an adult (going at 5 years old doesn’t count, right?). We had so much fun exploring the city! A vacation was much needed by my husband and I. We both work full time jobs, every day stress and just trying to adult is no easy fete. So it was high time to hit the skies and see what San Francisco had to offer. I want to share with you a little bit about what we did in San Francisco if you care to know 🙂
Traveling with a toddler is always a little challenging. When Camille was an infant, we traveled quite a few times and in comparison, it was SO much easier with her being a baby. Toddlers are so active and mobile, you wonder if they will be entertained enough and by all means, you want them to behave on the flight. Lol. Camille did awesome by the way. We kept her busy with her favorite toys and then she took a nap on both flights there and back. I was so proud of her! Hey, mommy was tired and wanted a nap too!
We arrived Thursday afternoon and stayed at an AirBnb. It was our first time using this service and we had a great experience! The home was located in Oakland and was so clean, well designed and gave us the much needed space we needed for Camille. I even took a picture of the kitchen and posted it on my Instagram, (click here). It was so darn pretty and I am taking notes to incorporate a few of the design styles for house number 2.
Anyhoo, Friday morning we set out to take the ferry from Oakland into San Francisco. It was such a fun experience and Camille loved it too! We checked out the Ferry Building, Union Square and did a little shopping in between. Saturday was all about Fisherman’s Wharf and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. It was such a site to see in person and the views at the top of the mountain were unreal.
Sunday we headed up to Sonoma to experience the beauty that is Wine Country. It was simply amazing! The rolling hills and fields of vineyards was everything I have imagined. I hope to return back next year in June, when the lavender fields are in full bloom! If you ever get a chance to go to San Francisco, do yourself a favor and head to wine country at least for a day. Next time when we return, we plan to stay overnight to truly enjoy it.
Any time you take a trip, you always wonder where to stay, should I get a rental car or find another method of transportation?? Well, some friends of mine told me to try DriveShop for my trip to San Francisco. DriveShop is an amazing auto fleet service that provide non auto-writers an opportunity to provide their honest feedback and review of a car that translates into their every day lifestyle. I was excited to finally work with them for our trip to San Francisco as I heard how amazing they are with rentals and customer service. I was a little apprehensive when they told me that we would have the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer during our stay. I mean, it’s a compact sized vehicle and I have a toddler, complete with a huge convertible car seat and stroller. Not to mention our own luggage and everything else. I need an SUV for this trip! Surprisingly, the Lancer was a lot more spacious then I expected!! Camille was safe and secure, with plenty of room in the back seat. Which was even roomy enough for my brother in law and his girlfriend to sit in the back as we headed off to Sonoma. Not to mention how stylish and sporty this ride is! I loved the leather seats( kid friendly), Sirius Radio, Hands- free technology Bluetooth and the LATCH system for all of my car seat mama’s! What’ s even better? It was great on gas! We received the car on full Thursday and was only left with 1/4 on Monday. Mind you, we did a lot of driving around the city and Wine Country too!
My only complaint with this vehicle was there were not enough USB cords up front for charging. There was only one and that doesn’t work for two people, especially with me trying to post to Instagram and SnapChat. I need all of my juice! 🙂
Have you ever heard of DriveShop? Its worth checking out!!
Until we meet again San Francisco! You’re alright with me!!
