Can you believe that Christmas is only days away? I have so much to do and so little time. It’s a little hard to get into the Christmas spirit here in Dallas when the weather is still quite warm. I was excited to head to New York over a week ago to experience some winter weather. Well, was I in for a  surprise when the high was 60 degrees during the time we were there! It was still a little chilly, but perfect weather to layer with fur vests, knee boots and parka jackets. I love layering because you can take off or add on and still be warm, as well as comfortable. I also find its better to carry a smaller bag when layering outfits so that you’re not adding on any additional bulk. This merlot, suede cross body bag was the perfect companion for touring the city. It holds so much and is so easy to throw on and go! I wore it as a cross body and as a clutch for night time attire as well.
I promise to fill you in on more details about my trip to New York very soon! As I said earlier, I have so much to do to prepare for Christmas. So I better let you go and jump on my Christmas shopping ASAP!

Hey Loves! I’m back from my NYC Girls Trip!! We had so much fun taking in the sights, eating great food and enjoying the magic that is Christmas in NYC. Check out my Insta for pics! While I was there, I was able to squeeze in a blog shoot as well. I’ve always envied those gorgeous, New York Street Style photos I always see. So I just knew that I had to make it happen. The weather was just perfect while we were there. So I pulled out my go to leather jacket, along with the coveted Zara blanket scarf and Prada sunnies to give me that “New York State of Mind” type vibe.
Let’s talk about this t-shirt for a sec! Isn’t it the cutest? I saw this on my Insta feed and knew I needed to find it. I’ve linked this t-shirt for you below. Trust me, you need it in your life. It’s the realest t shirt out there am I right?!

Girlfriends Guide to Gift Giving- For the Homebody

Hi There! I have another Gift Guide for you today on the blog. Today’s gift guide idea is such a true story for me… well just about every other person over 30 I know. For some reason, we become homebodies. We put the club days behind us and cozy up on the couch to relax. Just give us Netflix, comfy clothes to lounge in, yummy snacks, and a glass of wine and we’re good to go. This is perfect for any of your girlfriends, whether they are a homebody or not. You can never go wrong with comfortable pajamas, a few great facial and body treatments or a wine membership to boot. I’ve rounded up some perfect goodies that make Friday, Saturday or Sunday night on the couch even better!

I will try my hardest to get a post up for you Thursday, but as you know I will be headed to the Big Apple!! So its been a little crazy with trying to get packed, make sure my household is together and getting a little rest before this fun girls trip.

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!! I am quite obsessed with leather leggings. I think I may have about ten pair and counting. I swear they speak to me and are my go- to for fall and winter wear. I’ve had these pair of olive green leather leggings for a few years now and was never quite sure how to wear them. I just knew that I loved them and had to have them. Well, I was on my Pinterest as usual and saw the above image. I knew I had to recreate it and put my own spin on it. I pulled out these leggings and knew they were perfect for this look. I also added one of my favorite statement bags to pull in the burgundy shades along with the shoes,  I intended to wear a jean jacket with this outfit, but in my haste out the door to this shoot, I left it at home. #bloggerproblems

I am super excited that next weekend I am headed to New York for a girls trip!! This will be my first time away from Camille, ever! I know I’ll be a little emotional leaving her, but I need this get away. It will be nice to take a break from worrying about bottles, nap time and diaper changes. Now its time to leave her in daddy’s capable hands…. this should be interesting!

Happy Tuesday!! I’m back again with my next installment of the “Girlfriends Guide to Gift Giving.” Today I’ve picked out some super cute gifts for the “Happy Hostess” friend in your life. You know the type, she loves to entertain and have people over for food, drinks and fun. I love this guide for the hostess because its so full of fun and can suite many of those on your gift giving list. How cute are the aprons and tea towels?? They are the perfect conversation starter and so useful in the kitchen. I also love the “Olivia Pope” wine glasses too. How elegant are they? These wine glasses are so nice and big for one, two or three glasses of wine??? Lol.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you are having a fabulous time with family and friends. Today’s look is an easy, comfy Thanksgiving outfit you can wear to a family dinner while yet, remaining stylish. There are so many favorite pieces to this outfit: the olive sweater cape, bold red bag, ripped jeans and these “GORGEOUS” Over the Knee boots! Now, you can always trade out the jeans for some comfy leggings so you can really get down and enjoy your meal (don’t worry, no judging here), but I always love wearing my ripped jeans anytime I get a chance. You really cannot do any wrong with this simple, but statement making look.
The year has flown by so quickly. I remember last year being on maternity leave with my little girl during Thanksgiving. We traveled to Chicago on our first airplane trip together to visit my brother in law in college. It was a trip full of worry of her first plane ride, keeping her warm in the brutal cold, and our first Thanksgiving together as a family of three. Now with having a child, the memories of my time spent with her are bolder, more vivid and have more meaning. So forgive me as I reflect on this time last year. She’s grown so much!! I am most thankful of this child of mine, who is the sparkle in my eye and the reason I keep going.

Hey There!! It’s time to get that Christmas shopping started if you can believe it. I’ve got some great gift guides for your bestie or nearest and dearest friends. I’ve created ” The Girlfriend’s Guide to Gift Giving” series to help you find the perfect gift for your girl! I will cover the fashionista, the happy hostess, the homebody and the foodie! Today’s installment is focused on your fashionista friend. You know the one, the friend who is always so stylish, up on the latest trends and can usually be found at the mall (this is so me) lol.

You can never go wrong with a great pair of gloves, gorgeous purse or sparkly accessories with the fashionista. If you really want to give her a special gift, a chic leather jacket or leopard cape would be perfect for this stylish girl. Really, there is something in this guide for the fashionista out there! From one fashionista to another, I’d take one of each please 🙂

Happy Sunday! I talked to you recently about my top picks for capes (click here) and I am so in love with this fall trend. My love for capes started last fall where I went crazy and bought about five of them lol. Well, it continues and this cape right here?!?! A-MAZING! As soon as my eyes saw this beauty I had to have it. The black and white with the rust contrast just speaks fall. I kept it easy by wearing black over the knee wedge boots and my go to black bag. Trust me, you need this cape in your life. It’s the perfect fall piece to give you a little sophistication, edge and why not, a little sass!
