The snakeskin trend is alive and well! I’ve always loved a good snakeskin print when it comes to fashion, although I am terrified of snakes. The Steve Madden “Kinga” snakeskin boot is no exception. I eyed it at Nordstrom’s a while back and I had to try it on. As soon as I did, I knew I had to have it. The heel height is very comfortable, the quality of the boot was nice and it came in various shades. I selected the “pink” shade, although its more of a tan if you ask me. Its currently on sale for $80 so grab this boot now ladies!

Its now Fall here in Dallas and I am so excited. The day we shot the above look it was almost 90 degrees and that was only a few weeks ago. Now the temps have dropped to the 50s and I love it. I can easily pair these knee boots with a sweater dress, leather leggings and chunky sweater, blazers and more. I secretly want the black and white snakeskin shade but I already have a pair very similar. The difference is the Steve Madden “Kinga” snakeskin boot is so much more comfortable to wear. I know I would reach for this pair way more. But, Lord knows I don’t need another pair of boots. My closet won’t be able to handle it!

Is snakeskin print too trendy?

Don’t fear the snakeskin print trend. There are so many ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe rather its shoes, boots, skirt, bag or scarf! Snakeskin print is a great neutral too and can easily add interest to your outfit. I love it in any form and can’t get enough of it. In this look I wore it as a crossbody bag and here with a denim midi dress. If you ask me, snakeskin is not a trendy print either. It won’t be out of style and you can incorporate it in various ways throughout all four seasons. Don’t you love it when you get the best bang for your buck? I sure do!

My love for leopard print runs deep! I seriously cannot get enough of this print. From dresses, coats, tops and shoes I always want and need more. This leopard print dress I scored from ASOS is no exception! I love that its long sleeve, appropriate for the changing seasons, and that I can pair this dress with pumps, knee boots or even tennis shoes if I’m feeling daring lol.

Can you wear leopard print dress to the office?

Yes! This leopard print dress is certainly appropriate for the office. The long sleeve, appropriate length and smaller scale leopard print of the dress totally makes it work wear ready! What I also like about this leopard print dress is that its perfect for layering too. You could pair this dress with an amazing blazer, a beautiful midi length coat or a cute cardigan. There are a variety of ways to transition this dress from season to season. Whats not to love about that?

I also love pairing leopard print with brights or jewel tones. In this look, you see I paired my dress with the orange pumps and a deep emerald green handbag. The leopard print acts as a neutral while the jewel tone green and bright orange adds a perfect compliment. Sometimes you just have to mix and match until you create that perfect combination. You’d be surprise what you come up with!

I’ve rounded up a few leopard print dresses that I feel are appropriate for the season and perfect to wear to the office, business meeting or church! I always think its great to add various prints in your closet to liven things up a bit. Leopard print is surely one of them.

Can you believe the Holidays are upon us? I don’t know about you, but I have already decided that I am not cooking this go-around So I’ve been considering ordering a pre-made Holiday meal this go around. A few weeks back I had the opportunity to taste La Madeline Holiday Feast at their original location here in Dallas.

La Madeline Holiday Feast includes pre-made holiday meals such as sides, breads, salads, desserts and oven roasted turkey breasts which you can easily heat at home or order hot and delivered for your next office gathering beginning November 1st!

What included in the Holiday Feast menu?

At the Holiday Feast event, I was able to try the oven-roasted turkey breast, cranberry apple cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans almondine, wild mushroom sauce, cranberry sauce and sourdough breadsticks.

Everything was delicious, but my personal favorite was the mashed potatoes with wild mushroom gravy. The potatoes were whipped to perfection, buttery and creamy. The mushroom gravy really took it to the next level, so flavorful and seasoned. I definitely recommend. Also, the cranberry apple cornbread stuffing was very good. It had a sweet and savory flavor to it that I like and tasted better after each bite! So even if you planned to cook your own turkey or another meat, certainly consider La Madeline for sides!

Also, I was able to try their Pecan Tart and Pumpkin Pie. They also had a Sacher Torte, a chocolate cake with raspberry preserves, chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache. I didn’t get a chance to try it, but I definitely plan to stop by and order a slice. My personal favorite was the Pecan Tart (pie), not overly sweet, but certainly tasty. I’m not a pumpkin pie kind of girl, but I gave it a try and it was not bad at all. I just personally prefer Sweet Potato Pie.

I scored this A-line denim midi dress a few years ago from an Anthropologie sale. Its such a good closet staple, I thought I’d share it again! A denim midi dress is another good transitional piece when the seasons are changing and the weather gets unpredictable. What I like about the one I am wearing is that I can easily wear it in spring with a pair of sandals or slides. I can also pair it come Fall with a turtleneck, blazer and knee boots.

In this look, I did not pair it with a turtleneck because it was already 80 degrees at the time when I was shooting this look about two weeks ago at 10am! Yall, this Texas weather is so crazy! In October it can go from 95 degrees one day to 50 the next. So you can see why I try to pick transitional pieces I can easily layer and get multiple wears and looks.

How should I style my denim midi dress?

Denim midi dresses are a great example of a Fall piece because you can easily dress it up or down. Think of all of the beautiful outerwear jackets you can pair with a denim dress! Trench coat, leather or suede moto jacket, a corduroy blazer! There are so many possibilities to fall in love with, don’t you think?

I linked some amazing knee boots including the snakeskin knee boot that I am wearing. This Steve Madden “Kimari” Snakeskin knee boot is VERY comfortable. The heel height is perfection and makes for easy wear. I also linked a wedge leather knee boot that I have my eye on in black. It reminds me of the Fendi boot, but a more affordable option of course.

Its been a while! So much has been going on over here lately with Camille beginning Kindergarten, starting extra curricular activities and well…. life! I took a little break from doing blog posts, but now I’m back! Let’s get into this satin midi slip dress in this gorgeous bronze color, shall we?!

You all know I love a good slip dress. I’ve worn them a few times on the blog and now I’m back with another one. The gorgeous bronze shade of this satin midi slip dress led me to purchase it and honey, I have no regrets! This color on darker skin is truly beautiful. The fit is amazing and its so comfortable. I wore this slip dress on our 10 year wedding anniversary date night and I felt beautiful in the dress all night long. Well, we were only out for about 3 hours, but still, I felt stunning! LOL.

Can I wear a Satin Slip Dress in the Fall?

I know the temps are getting cooler and may lead you to believe that its too late to wear a slip dress. But, if you layer it well, you will be just fine. Check out this previous blog post where I layered my satin midi slip dress with a turtleneck, leather jacket and knee boots. You could layer this slip dress with a stunning belted blazer, knee boots and even a knit sweater underneath. Here are a pair of snakeskin knee boots that I have now and absolutely love that would look beautiful too. I encourage you to think of ways to extend the wear of your clothing as much as possible! You’ll be surprised with what you may come up with!

Let’s talk Summer essentials for a bit shall we? One of my readers requested that I do a post on my Summer essentials and I thought that was such a great idea. I don’t want to focus too much on basics. But, unique pieces that stand out and make a statement even if it is just a white dress. This Zara white eyelet midi dress is a perfect example of a Summer essential piece turned up a notch. Let’s get into why!

I feel a white dress is good to have in your Summer wardrobe. But, let’s be real, often times you won’t reach for it as often because its white. This is why I feel like a white summer dress should not only be unique, but easy to launder so you can throw on and go!

I scored this Zara dress during their Summer sale and I’m so glad I did. The eyelet detail throughout this dress is stunning! It also has a high low hemline and a flowy A-line cut. These features or details makes the dress more fun and versatile to wear day or night. I decided to pair this dress with a cute belt for more shape and to dress it up a bit. What I love about this white eyelet midi dress, is that I can easily pair with flats, heels, or wedges. I can also wear it to brunch, shopping or a casual evening out.

Why an eyelet style dress?

Eyelet dresses are so good for summer because they typically made of breathable fabrics and are lightweight as well. Even though this one has a longer sleeve, I felt nice and cool in it on an 80 degree Summer morning. In any summer dress, try to find lightweight fabrics that you will reach for constantly and get a lot of wear. I’ve linked a few dupes that I think are great options for a unique eyelet dress. You guys can you believe this summer midi dress is under $30?? Its been marked down and I strongly suggest you pick this beauty up. The color block detail and the gorgeous coral and peachy tones makes for a gorgeous summer midi dress! Its truly a stunner!

I’ve recently discovered that shades of coral, peach and tangerine always looks so amazing against my skin tone. So I decided to keep an eye out for any pieces in those tones to add to my wardrobe. As you can see, this summer midi dress looks amazing on dark skin! Also, the cute cut out back detail just adds a little something special to gorgeous dress that I love! I’m so happy I found it. Be sure to grab it before it sells out! Its truly an amazing deal!

I decided since this midi dress had color block detail, to add in some pop of color or a contrast color to pull this look together. I went to my old faithful mint green acrylic earrings I’ve had for a few years and my go to mint green clear vinyl bag!

Have I mentioned how much I love my clear vinyl heeled mules? I swear they go with everything and elongates the legs beautifully. Check them out in my prior post! I would strongly suggest to give clear heels a try! You’d be amazed how easily it goes with basically everything, making it super effortless too!

I simply love this summer nude outfit in today’s post! This is one of those outfits that comes together by accident. I purchased this Zara tulle top a few weeks ago and was trying to figure out how to style it… without pairing it with jeans! So I dug thru my closet and found my gold satin palazzo pants I bought a few months ago that I wore on the blog. I swear my closet sometimes is like the sunken place. It hides things from me that I didn’t know I had. Don’t you hate when that happen?

Anyways, the monochromatic look is always in. When you think of monochromatic, we typically think of all black. But, any color looks amazing!! When I paired the gold pants and this tulle top together the thought “nudes of summer” came to mind. I kept it simple by wearing my Zara clear mules and my shell clutch bag and bam, this look was born!

A summer nude outfit is so timely because the summer season is perfect to pull out those pale nude tones. Whites, golds, blush pinks are perfect summer nudes! Also, you cannot deny how those shades pop against dark skin tones. Yes, ladies this summer nude outfit will have you standing out from the crowd that’s for sure.

What did I wear under my sheer top?

Also, lets talk about how great my “nude” bra from True & Co blended with my skin tone to create an almost “nothing there” look! Another accidental pairing! True & Co was kind enough to send me a few bras to try out from their “True Body” line and I picked the “cinnamon” color because I wanted a nude tone more closer to my skin tone.

The day before the shoot when I was trying to figure out what to wear under this see thru top, it suddenly occurred to me to wear this bra! It worked perfectly! I certainly recommend checking out True & Co for bras, they are truly comfortable and have been my go to bra since receiving them!

I think this may be one of my favorite all time looks! Everything just flows perfectly together. Even the crazy wind that kept moving my hair all over the place. Hey, it made for such fun pictures so I’m not even mad!

The Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is back again and I feel like it just left! If you are not aware, Nordstrom’s runs anniversary sale each year featuring select Fall & Winter items at a reduced price. For those of you who like to shop ahead of the season, this is the perfect sale for you. If you are like myself and its too hot to think of boots and coats, then you probably will pass and wait until it gets cold enough lol.

I typically don’t shop the sale or give it too much thought because every blogger and their mama is talking about “what you NEED” from the sale. Its honestly quite annoying and I find myself rolling my eyes at every cardigan and bootie that is being put in my line of sight.

When I shop the Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, I like to pick up one or two pieces that I feel is unique and something I can wear even during the summer months. At least then I can wear it now instead of waiting until November when it gets cold here in Dallas.

Anyhoo, I did a poll on my Instagram (are you following me there, you should) to see if you guys wanted a roundup of my Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale picks and over 80% said YES! So here we are! I decided to do an under $150 round up to keep it more on the affordable side and make it less overwhelming to shop. I think my picks are pretty versatile, unique and to the point! What do you think?
