I am so ready for this week to come to a close. I am still recovering from the craziness that was last week click here with my little one, but she’s doing well and is back at her original daycare healthy and happy! Did you know today is National Lipstick Day? Honestly, there is a day for everything these days it seems like. But, since I love makeup, I thought I would do a beauty post today and feature my every day go to makeup pics and my favorite lippys!
When it comes to a daily look, I keep it simple and easy. I am all about a quick five minute face, especially on work days. To keep it especially easy, I absolutely adore eye palettes! I don’t have to search or dig for a lid, crease or blending color. I can just pull a palette and have easy access to pretty much any eye look I am in the mood for. For that, I simply adore the LORAC eye palettes. I always get the prettiest, blended eye look and the colors are so easily blended. I first start with a good eyeshadow base, so I’ll use either the Maybelline Color Tattoo, the LORAC eye primer or Too Faced Shadow Insurance. They help the shadows stay on longer and I honestly would not put on any eye makeup without them. Every girl loves a good mascara, I am always on the hunt for the best one. Right now I am using Loreal Voluminous mascara. I do like it, the formula is a little more wet than I like, but from my understanding it takes a little bit of time for it to dry out a little. So far, so good!
You can’t have a pretty eye look and not a flawless face! I don’t really bother with liquid foundations when I am doing a five minute face. My absolute favorite liquid foundation, however, is Makeup Forever HD foundation! It simply gives the most flawless, photo ready face. If you have not tried this foundation yet, pop over to your local Sephora and ask for a sample! Anyhow, back to what I use for my five minute face, I use Makeup Forever Pro Finish powder, I take the iT Cosmetics flat top brush and use that to apply the powder. It’s quick, easy and I love it.
The icing on the cake is simply a good lipgloss or lipstick for your look. These days, I prefer lipstick as I hate when my hair gets stuck on lips wearing gloss. My absolute favorite lipsticks are featured above. If I want a gorgeous red lip, I’ll use either the NARS Velvet Lip Pencil or the Too Faced Velvet liquid lipstick. They have a perfect matte finish and are the right shade of red for my skin tone. For a pretty mauve, pink lip, it has to be MAC’s Up The Amp lipstick!! It’s pure perfection and really any skin tone can pull it off. Last, but not least are the gorgeous, NARS Audacious lipsticks. The finish and consistency on these lipsticks are so smooth and moisturizing. My favorite shades are the Anna, Anita and Fanny. They have some other shades that I am eyeing and need to add to my collection soon 🙂
